Cloth Diapering

spraying and formula

My intention is to BF #2, but I had a lot of nursing problems with #1 and had to supplement with formula. I'm trying to plan ahead, just in case the same problems come up with #2.  All of the info out there is pretty clear that EBF poo doesn't need to be sprayed, but does anyone know what the rule is for formula poo?

Thanks!

Re: spraying and formula

  • You don't have to spray with formula, either. That said, if you wind up using the thickened reflux formulas, it never hurts to knock the yucky stuff off into the toilet.

  • We switched to formula around 4- 5 months and I never sprayed until solids started.

  • I had to spray when our LO was on formula only (before solids).  Actually, we didn't have a sprayer, so I did the "dunk & swish".
If I didn't do something, I'd end up with poop in the washer after I'd washed the diapers.
