Hiccups

I searched & couldn't find anything, but I'm also mobile so sorry if I missed it!

LO gets the hiccups after every single feeding and it feels like they last forever. Pedi said it's totally normal but I feel so bad! Any tips, suggestions, or advice from personal experience to get rid of them?

Re: Hiccups

  • Same problem here, not everytime but close to it. I find that if I let LO nurse just a minute longer that usually gets rid of them. It's almost like she just needs a sip more. Hope this helps! GL

  • We give gripe water for bad cases and it helps dd. If she nurses for a few minutes that also helps her.

  • My LO has this problem too, and I mentioned it to my pediatrician, she didn't seem concerned at all and said they would go away by themselves (well duh) but I could try burping her more and keep her upright for 20 minutes after feeding. So far keeping her upright seems to help a lot!
  • I asked our pediatrician about this on Wednesday and she said another few minutes of nursing can help, or to try her pacifier.

  • My kid gets them every day, just like in utero. I keep her upright, which seems to make her more comfortable. I read in What to Expect that nursing or a paci help. I nurse her and it usually does the trick.
