Hi Ladies,
I am 36 weeks along with my DS, but we just had a scan and he is measuring 7lbs+ at 35w6d, and the doctor expects him to be a big boy based on measurements since my 20 week ultrasounds. I get a few extra ultrasounds for medical reasons, about every 4-8 weeks. I have a DD who was 7lbs at birth, so it is a bit surprising he is so big already, but each kid is different. I know these scans can be up to 2lbs off in either direction so I am not worried about delivery (yet!).
If you had a 9lb+ baby did they wear newborn clothes and diapers? If so, for how long?
We have so many newborn diapers from diaper cakes, gifts and from friends who have had kids outgrow them in the past few weeks.
Thanks for any insight!
Re: Question for Moms of bigger babies
Anyway - both of mine used NB diapers. We didn't buy or get any NB clothes for DS because he was always measuring so big. Turns out we needed to buy some NB sleepers for him. With DD we had a few things but were out of them by the first or second week.
Sadly DD is a monster and is growing like a weed (95th in height and 75yh in weight) at 8weeks has outgrown most of her 0-3 month clothes. So many things will never be worn ...
Thanks for all the insight! I didn't even think about the different body types, DD is long and thin, and we run into her needing 2t pants for length but 18months for waist, so we have been searching out the different brands with elastic waists, so we will see what DS is like once he decides to join us.
Appreciate all the comparisons
