Which detergent?

We've talked about laundry several times on the board. I saw Nellie's Laundry Soda on QVC once and have wanted to try it. I found a bag on clearance at Marshallsand snagged it. This got me wondering what the majority of households use. Care to answer?

i clicked DIY cause it's cheap..but it's half and half. it started because of the minimal ingredients, but i continue cause it's cheap.

SS. Seventh Generation. I guess it's supposed to be a bit more natural, but I don't have to go to a specially store for it. The grocery stores here all carry it as does Target. But we get it from Amazon like most of our other stuff.

@jennlin, I haven't done DIY detergent before and I'm hoping that going from bottled detergent to Nellie's will be the first step to eventually going DIY. ‌

I usually use ecos detergent but right now I have some other eco friendly one. I buy both at Costco.

DIY, because it's cheap but also because other than Era other detergents make me itchy so the short ingredient list makes it nice.

Tide. I switched since we are doing cloth diapers. I used Purex before. I actually just picked up some Nellies at TJMaxx to try out!

I've been using All free & clear for years, so that's what I picked. But DH has been in charge of laundry lately and I have no idea what he's been buying, but I know it has fragrance, which my sensitive skin isn't so fond of.

I make dry soap and it smells AMAZING. I add like 3 bottles of Purex crystals into my mix and I just love it. Our clothes never seems to shrink like it used to, and the clothes just come out cleaner. It is not hard to do. You just have to put aside about 30 minutes to grate your zote or nelspaths soap. If you have a food processor you can just use that. Don't try a blender. It doesn't work...lol

I buy the lavender Purex crystals, but you can get whatever scent you like! It's so easy and saves me a lot of money. Before the baby 1 batch lasted us over a year!

I used this recipe too except I use downy unstoppables (the blue ones) instead of purex crystals and our laundry smells amazing!

I may actually do that for my next batch, but I have so much left!!! I have like 5 Purex bottles full of the soap! I'm thinking Christmas presents this year
