TTC After a Loss

Need help with choosing a doctor

I've learned so much from all of you, so I'm looking to you again.  I had my follow up appt today after the d&c and my doctor is going to send me to a specialist.  He gave me some names of doctors that he's worked with before to check with my ins and see if they would cover it.  Two doctors are covered, but this is where I don't know what to do.  One is an RE and the other is in maternal fetal medicine.  Is there a difference between the two?  Which should I make the appt with?  I'm so lost!  TIA

Re: Need help with choosing a doctor

  • IMO Go with an RE.. Maternal Fetal Medicine is jsut that...docs that specialize in fetal medicine   If you were to have a problem after you were pregnant.  We had to see one for my DD as we had bad test results come back and needed a specialists opinion.  GL!

  • IMHO I too would go with the RE. They specialize more in finding the problem and getting you pg than the fetal medicine dr I would think. This is actually one thing that I may google to research a bit more just to be sure though. But it does seem to me that the RE would be the better way to go. GL!
