December 2014 Moms

thought she was coming

While at work the other night I started having contractions. Way to early I thought. My lo needs to cook longer. Anyway called my doctor after calling my mother, always call her first, and needless to say my sister ended up driving me to the hospital. Luckily, only severe Braxton hicks. Was given an iv to help stop them before they turned into the real thing. Scary moment for me cause I am no where near ready for d day! Just felt like sharing. Thanks guys!

  • I think my mom would be royally pissed if I called her first before the doctor while thinking I was in labor.

  • I'm really disappointed that Facebook isn't on the list.....I mean, 1. Mom, 2. Bump, 3. Facebook, 4. DH.....then the doctor, maybe! I mean, DH doesn't need to be before Facebook--that'd be a fun way for him to find out its baby time!

  • Glad it wasn't the real thing! But Im with you-- In the past, I've always called my mom first too (if DH was at work or school) =) But she lives 2 minutes away so she would be the one to drive me so I always give her the heads up then call my OB.
  • I'm not telling my mom until after the baby is born because she's a pain in the ass.

Hope you feel better, OP. Sounds like it was dehydration. Make sure you get enough water every day.

  • My mom is a nurse. And I know some people find it weird that I would call her first but she has had 7 kids. So I figured she would know wither I should call or not cause I wasn't totally sure what was going on. Also Raechay me and SO have worked Alot of our issues out. Thank you for asking!
