Which progesterone support do you perfer? (Sig. Warning)

Last cycle I was on endometrin, and it was really messy, (TMI) I want scratch so much that I was bleeding down there and was a pain to walk. I want to switch to PIO, but DH is afraid of needles and would not inject me. What is your experience with Crinone, Endometrin, or PIO.

I prefer the PIO due to the mess and expense of the suppositories (PIO is much less expensive for me). There are videos on how to do IM injections yourself if DH can't help you out. Good luck

I prefer PIO. The injections really aren't as bad as I first expected. I hate......hate crinone. It was disgusting and made me itch so badly.

I'm on both Crinone and PIO right now. I've used prometrium once prior to ET. I would take the PIO hands down, any day. Crinone build up is nasty and prometrium just got all leaky and gooey. I have read that vaginal progesterone gets levels in the uterus higher, whereas the IM shots increase levels in your blood and uterus, but not as high in the uterus where it counts. But as long as my RE says the PIO is good, I would still take that over any suppository. I really hope I can come off the Crinone soon. Scooping that shit out of there every day is just...nast.

I would much rather use PIO. The shots don't bother me anymore, which I never thought I would say, and DH doesn't mind giving them every night. Crinone grosses me out wicked bad and I find myself paranoid that some will leak out. Also, (TMI alert) crinone can give you different colored chunky discharge that is absolutely disgusting.

I have done both and 100% prefer the PIO. I hate the mess of the endometrin. I also feel more confident on the PIO that my progesterone is what it should be.

My DH has a huge fear of needles! However he doesn't seem to mind being on the other side of them. PIO is no picnic, but in comparison to terrible things I've heard about the suppositories, it's got to be a million times better. At least the uncomfortable pinch and sore muscles only lasts for a short time.

I also prefer PIO. At my WTF appointment on Wednesday I asked to be on PIO for every cycle from this point forward. I used Endometrin for an IUI cycle and my fresh IVF cycle. I hated the discharge and I always bled through it. PIO is the only form that I'm confident in as far as it being what my body needs.

My DW hates needles so I had to do the shots myself. It was not nearly as bad as I had feared.

I'm doing both also. I don't know what I prefer, haven't done either yet, ask me next week.

Definitely PIO. Also, my attitude despite disliking it was that there are plenty of studies that say that PIO is more effective. If you're going through all of this misery of IVF anyway, do what's proven more effective unless there's some huge reason you can't.

My last IVF was with Estradiol tablets (3x daily) and Endometrin (3x and then 2x daily). This cycle I am on Del Estrogen (once every 3 days) and PIO (daily starting Nov 20th).

After having my first IM injection of DE, I would say that I definitely miss the non invasive days of Estradiol and Endometrin. I must have been one of those few people that had zero irritation issues with both, and did not have awful discharge experiences (I just made cleanout a part of my daily shower routine).

However, I took my first DE injection on Friday, and STILL feel the discomfort 3 days later, knowing that I need to take another one tonight.

I'm not sure how I'm going to handle doing IM injections daily, considering there is such a limit to the location that it can be given. I have already talked to my nurse about the proper locations in the thigh, since I cannot foresee giving myself 2 IM injections at the same time in the upper left/right quadrant of my rear every night. There is just NOT enough space.

Thinking about it and the constant discomfort I'm already feeling almost makes me want to cry, but since our loss, I will do anything if it means that our bean will stick around for the long haul!
