anyone use pins? My snappi is great for my prefolds + birdseye flats... not so great for the flannel or S'bish.

Thoughts?

Just make sure you get the curved diaper pins.

I was a bit nervous at first about using pins, but they are way better with Sbish than Snappis. And unless DS is having a very squirmy night, they go on pretty easily. And they are very secure.

I found Boingos worked with flannel. The prongs seem longer than Snappis. I have a set of pins but I am too chicken to try them on my wiggly baby.

I used pins since I couldn't figure out the Snappi for a long time, and Snappi didn't exist when I cd dd 22 years ago. Sharper pins go in better and lead to fewer pin pricks IME. Insert at a flat angle to reduce chance of poking LO.

I haven't used them yet, but I bought some pins from GMD to try out on Katniss. When I had asked about pins, lots of people had positive experiences with them.

I haven't used pins yet, but I have some. I need to break the out for the sbish. I just keep forgetting.

When I was 9, we had a diaper service for my little brother. We exclusively used prefolds with pins. I figure if I could do it when I was 9, I can do it now.

I also have some free pins from GMD. For me they don't slide easy enough to where I don't feel like I am going to impale my fingers. I suppose I could try soap but snappis are just soo easy.

Definitely poke them into a bar of soap if you want to try them. It's amazing how much easier they slide like that.

I used pins before I ever got a snappi. I now use pins for ON sbish and I use snappis for prefolds.

Maybe coconut oil or bees wax? IDK.

You can also run them through your hair being careful not to scratch your scalp when a bar of soao isn't handy.

I used a mini bar of soap from a hotel. My idea was that I could put it in one of those soap containers for traveling, but it is kind of a challenge to get the soap and the pins in together. I need to put it in a taller tupperware container or something.

You don't have to leave the pins in the bar of soap. You can close them and put into the container that way......or pin them to a spare diaper in the diaper bag.
