I am not a crafty person but find myself spending a lot of time on Pinterest thinking I could make that... I am wondering who is getting crafty and working on a DIY project for the nursery? I am going to try this
Gosh, I wish I had the artistic talent to do some of that stuff. I keep finding things on Etsy that are so cute but too expensive (really? $50 for a black watercolor of a bunny?). DH is talented enough but has neither the time nor the desire. I have an artist friend who is a SAHD, so I may cautiously approach this subject with him...
Going to be making the bedding. I can't find anything I like, everything is too overly themed or way too expensive. So I found some tutorials on pintrest decided I'll go to Joann's once we find out what were having and break out the sewing machine.
The quick and dirty way is to buy/print stencils of something cute and get a can of spray paint. It pretty much works every time. With a stencil you can be a craft master! The "wallpaper" ones are endless. I plan on buying a modern looking one to do something fancy on one nursery wall.
That's cute. When we close on our house, I'm going to attempt a gray and white chevron wall in the nursery. I have no creative aptitude. I'm a science nerd.
Oh good luck! I did a pink and gray chevron wall in my daughters nursery and I wanted to quit half way through! It was sooo time consuming and a plain pain in the butt! BUT, it does look soo good so I felt better after I saw the finished product!
I'm decoupaging a dresser that's going to double as a changing table (not done yet!) It was an old dresser I've had for so long that I got for free. I'm finally making it pretty!
Im trying to figure out how to make all the cute, but ridiculously expensive things I'm finding on Pinterest. We're going with an animal theme so, I'm working on animal figure canvas for the wall, as well as some throw pillows.
I'm planning on making everything, but definitely waiting on the sex to make decisions. I know I'll be making a quilt. We actually got fabric on our honeymoon just for our children's quilts. But then artwork and curtains etc will come in to play once we decide on a theme.

Did you use scrapbook paper for this? It looks awesome. I need to decoupage the inside of a China cabinet, but I've never done it before. Have you ever done it with fabric?
@rsaj0807 how do you feel about my dream nursery being a complete space theme with planets and glow in the dark stars on a beautiful indigo cieling? I wish i lived in a house bc this would be done. Alas i am in an apartment. /nerd
I haven't done anything with babies room... i cry every time i look at the mess. However, when we learn sex i will be making blankets and possibly clothes. I am working on Xmas ornaments though!

@Rowsdower85 - yes I used scrapbooking paper and glossy mod podge, but I still have to go over it with a sealant. I have never used fabric before, but I have a ton of scrap fabric from my work that I need to do something with! (I'm not much of a sewer- that's next on my list of things to learn!)
I have also decided to make my own bedding this time around. I can't find anything I like that isn't outrageously expensive. I bought all my fabric tonight here is my nursery inspiration.
I love these ideas! I want to make letters for above the crib, but I think I'm just going to buy wooden letters and paint them or wrap them with colored twine. I won't be in our house until after my daughter is born so I can't make the nursery beautiful for awhile

This is me also. Not sure when we will actually be buy, but likely after the baby is born. I will still consider doing the nursery after though. Just not as much as I probably would have had we had a house already.
Re: Getting Crafty
I will probably make my baby's quilt, though.
