I feel like Briar is eating to much, he can eat as much as my 7 year old. But if I limit him he throws fits or goes to the pantry and points to his food. All the child does is eat! So how much is too much to eat? Do you limit them or let them eat til they say they are done?
Glad see his not alone. He eats healthy due to food allergies. Lots of fruits and veggies. He will eat almost 2 eggs, 2 fruit cups and 2 biscuits(sometimes a little more) for breakfast then usually when my husband's eats about 5 minutes later he is eating off his plate too. He is a little under 50 percentile in weight. I just didn't want to over feed him all the time.
My 4 year old is a different story. I don't know how the child is alive because he never eats. He has 5 foods that he lives off of because he is so picky.
I wouldn't worry about it. LO doesn't eat a ton, but every once in a while he totally gorges himself ... and then vomits everywhere. So I think their body's are pretty good at regulating how much food to keep inside of them ;-)
Also wishing I had this problem As long as you are offering healthy/balanced options I don't see a problem. He's probably busying burning all those calories running after his brothers.
Ty is a beast and eats a lot too. I wouldn't limit him because I know he is eating lots of healthy food. I do make sure to offer fruit at the end of the meal so he finishes everything else first.
You could also try slow-release carbs and protein to be sure he is getting the sustaining energy he needs to make it to the next meal.
Owen has his days where he'll eat all day long. I usually let him because I'm giving him healthy stuff. He's got days where he'll hardly eat, and that's OK too.
He can normally out eat my 8 year old, but he's not a big eater, never has been.
