SWMR - Ablation?

This is my "home" board, so hope no one minds me asking... Has anyone had or considered a uterine ablation?  I'm seriously considering it, but I'm very nervous. 

I listed as Sort of Working related because it's actually starting to affect my ability to get to work.  I need to bring extra clothes, the cramps and fatigue are crushing and make it difficult to function.  It seems to get worse every month.  Last month, I literally had to stay in bed for a day.  I do not do well on any kind of hormonal birth control, so dr is not recommending the pill or IUD.  There was one other non-hormonal option, but he didn't recommend it long-term. 

So, any advice???

    Thank you! I'm done with kids - 39 and 2 healthy kids, DH had a V last year, so we were thinking this was a good option... but still terrified for some reason...

    I personally haven't had one. My SIL had one this year, for similar reasons. From her experience it was a rough/painful first few days of recovery, but she has been thrilled with the results. She had 2 other friends that also the procedure done this year and are also happy. 

    Good luck with your decision. I know after we are done with kids I will consider. My cycles sounds similar to yours and I too have had issues with hormonal birth control so it is not an option.
