Slip-on shoes

I did a search and came up with "Comfy Shoes" but this isn't exactly what I am looking for.  As I get bigger I want slip-on shoes that are warm and easy to get on and off.  I looked into the Ugg slippers (they have a rubber bottom) but I just think winter is coming, the ground will be wet/snowy, therefore feet will be wet and cold with them.  So preferably not something with cloth.  I currently have been living in my fur lined Sperry's(see below), but I am in search of something else.  Anyone with recommendations?

They are amazingly comfortable.  My parents have a house on the Gulf in the Panhandle of Florida, it gets chilly on their boat in the winter months and I actually bought them for down there.  But they work great right now.

  • Ugg also has short booties that I've been considering.  I used to wear the tall boots all around Manhattan in the winter-- they got discolored (from the salt and dirt I think) but I don't recall my feet ever getting wet through the shoe, despite not water treating them (which I think is an option)-- then again, that was back when I could see my feet and where I was going.

Does anybody have this style of booties?  Is it feasible to get them on and off w/o using my hands?

  • chelseavranich I trust myself to kick them off (or scrape them off with my other foot), it's getting them on that could be tricky depending on how wide they are at the ankle.  I think I just have to suck it up and get to Nordstrom or Bloomingdales to try them on.

As a PSA, I got a pair of the UGG leather boots a couple years ago when I still lived in NY and only realized after wearing them around for a day that they ran a good 1/2 size smaller than all my other Uggs... so between that and moving to CA they mostly sit around collecting dust in my closet. :/

  • I'm a big fan of my ugg "slippers"
I have been wearing them through the winters for a few years now. I wouldn't wear them if I were planning trapsing through the snow, but they are very convenient and comfy for regular daily wear. And they would be just fine if it were a snowy delivery day

  • im currently living in Danskos at work because they are the only shoe that will fit me right now. Unfortunately when my feet swell at the end of the day its really hard to get the Danskos on and they don't have much give. On the weekends I live in fur lined sanuks -soo comfy but I do have to watch out for puddles as they are a sweatshirt type material. My C-section is set for December 2nd so i'm hoping to just make it through with what I have for now
  • I've been living in my Toms. Not really on the warm end, but then again we have been having an endless summer here in CA.
  • I have about 4 pairs of Sperrys I rotate through.

We are having our first snow right now...so eventually I'll switch over to the 3 pairs of Ugg boots. I only tie my running shoes.

~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

  • I just got danskos and am loving the ease of them. As a person who is always cold (somewhat tempered at this point in the pregnancy by being warmer than usual), I find them to be very warm. Mine have a little space so they're fine with warm socks. I did have to exchange the original pair I got, same size, which were so loose! I thought I was in between sizes but then read a bunch of reviews online that noted that each pair was different, so I tried again and voila, perfection (so far)! Zappos for the win for making this possible.

  • I cannot get my Uggs on or off. I have the taller ones.

I've been living in my Sperry's (regular, not fur lined). But its about to get cold so I also need some warm shoes. I cannot get away with very warm socks and gym shoes as my feet don't have any extra room in my shoes now that they have swollen.

Target has a cheap version of the fur-lined Sperry's with a rubber bottom. I figured I could get a larger size and use thick socks to stay warm. And hope it doesn't snow too terribly before I give birth...
  • This might need to be my next uo, but I absolutely can't stand uggs. They are just so ugly and look like you are wearing slippers 24/7. Anyway, I tried to get some danskos but I was trying them on after a day of being on my feet and they were so swollen they were hard to get on and uncomfortable. So I felt like they wouldn't be a good option. It's most likely going to snow here soon and I also want something I can wear in the snow and not have to use my hands to put on also. I feel like this is one of the few perks to being pregnant in the summer.
  • Op, thanks for this post! I am now going to hunt for fur lined ballet flats n other slip ons. Putting on socks n shoes each morning is one of the hardest parts of my day. We've had unseasonably warm weather here so I have sometimes worn jackets n scarves while still having flip flops on my feet:)

These two are just so funny...

Also, due date has come, gone and I am just so anxious to meet baby!  Please be healthy and strong baby, mama can't wait to meet you :)
  • I have a pair of Merrell slip-ons that I've been getting a lot of use out of lately.  Not the most fashionable things, but warm, cozy, and great arch support.

I haven't bought any new shoes because I am scared of my feet going up a size.

  • I bought a pair of Coach Antonia moccasin from Macy's last year. It has light fur lining inside of them and are the most comfortable pair of shoes!! I couldn't find the exact pair I have, but here's something very similar from Norstrom on sale: https://m.shop.nordstrom.com/s/coach-antonia-moccasin-flat-women/3849427
  • My feet have swollen this pregnancy from an 8-8.5 to a solid 9.
Sadly none of my old shoes fit. I rotate between flip flops ( I'm in ca) and a pair of all black Nike free runs ( which is what I wear to work).
I'm defiantly going to make a target run to check out comfey shoes (there goes $200 in stuff I don't need)

  • I love the slip on sneakers made by Vans.. if you go to their web site you can make custom ones or get any style they already have. They are super comfy too :)

  • I get these "slippers" every year because I usually wear them for work and the see a lot of wear and tear.  Anyways they're cheap and soo warm and comfy.  I don't know if you're looking for shoes with backs or not, but I love these. Also I hope the link works.

  • I'm in Oregon and wear flip flops pretty much 75% of the year.  Right now I'm leaving in slip on Keen sneakers.

  • Another vote for fleece lined Merrells. They can be pricey, so I also have a pair of Lands End all weather shoes (I think that's what they are called) that are fleece lined and have a zipper.

I second the Lands End fleece-lined ones.
