Whiney Wednesday

Ok starting a new thread bc I have to vent my whines somewhere. Please contribute. :)

Re: Whiney Wednesday

  • 1. My DD is off the charts clingy and whiney!! Everything is mommy mommy mommy, I can't leave her aight for a second. She's been a pain at school drop off (half day program) since Sept and today they told me she was crying off and on all day saying I need my mommy. All that while still getting ALL my attention and time all the time, lots of cuddling etc. i am exhausted! And this is 2 weeks before new baby! It's like she senses something is going to change. 2. I'm SOOO uncomfortable and ready to get this baby out BUT at the same time I'm scared of delivery and recovery.... Ughhh 3. Just found out that MH will be out of town on work trips weeks 4 and 5 after baby. I have NO relatives who can help and I am having a csection. No idea what i'm going to do. For sure I won't be able to handle 2 kids, one of them a crazy 30+lb toddler on my own! What would you guys do?? I feel like I will need a live in nanny or something... I could keep going on and on...

  • Oh goodness. Hopefully everything will mellow out with her once she sees baby. I cannot imagine having to play single mom after a c section. Sending lots of happy, calming thoughts your way (and DD's way).

  • Oh dear big hugs coming your way! Sorry things have been crazy! I agree in maybe trying to hire someone to help? Not sure if money would be an issue. If I lived near you I would do help you!!

Hoping tomorrow is a bit calmer :)

Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

  • Yikes! A mouse! @hikerlady..  I'd be freaked out too.  Mice and roaches are H's jobs in this household.

That sounds pretty challenging @harmonicbabe26.  At least you have H for a few weeks.  I would consider a post-portum doula for those weeks as @hikerlady suggested, or a nanny if you think your DD will need the attention most.  At least organize for someone else to handle DD's trip to the school?  And maybe have a food delivery service for 2 weeks?

My whine is pretty minor:  I called to register for a tour of the hospital where I hope to deliver.  They have no tour slots available for Nov or Dec and I'm required to pre-register by end of Dec for my due date.  I pre-registered.  FX there are no deal breakers when I get around to the tour.
  • I bet @hikerlady‌ ! I think it was the how it fell in that got me. I absolutely hate them. We had a couple living in our garage and it freaked me out when they would nearly run into the house. So I can only imagine having to druve around with one.

Yeah I am trying to figure out what to do. What scares me most is having to lift her out of bed and stuff like that. She's still in a crib. And she's so high maintenance emotionally now. I know it will only get worse. And I'm sure her reaction to a sitter/nanny will be more clinging and whining. It might backfire if I have someone helping. Ughh...

I thought the mouse story was awesome!! Don't feel bad - if I got a bee or wasp in my car I would pull over on the interstate and start running away. I'm scared of them so much.
  • @harmonicbabe26‌ maybe you could just get someone to do meals and clean that way it will free up that time for DD. or someone will do some freezer meals etc.
My whine is I'm so tired after being night owl my DS has started going to bed by 8pm and getting up at 5:30am..ummm I'm not a morning person! Lol I also moved mom in new apartment and tore up carpeting in two rooms with DH...ugh wore out. Hopefully get everything organized before little girl is here and can be lazy over winter...ahh PJ'S and Hot Chocolate ..lol

  • "@"harmonicbabe26 Somehow it will work out. :)  I had NO One to help me when my daughter was born.  My son was 4 so he was at least in preschool 2 days a week but 3 days a week it was me, him, and a brand new baby. He at least was older but he totally reverted baby to baby behavior when my daughter was born.  I'm talking peeing his pants.. pooping on the floor.. crying and whining.. totally went right back. He had been potty trained for over a year when she was born!!  My hubby didn't even take a day off!  He was with me 2 days in the hospital and then went right back to work. I didn't have a C but I was induced and on pitocin and my belly hurt so bad that I could hardly stand up! They eventually took me off of it because it wasn't helping and all I did was contract over and over and over again. I was SO sore! It was horrible. The very first day home I had both kids by myself AND had to take them to the doctor's! We got home and I said ok I'm never doing that again.. we are never leaving the house. lol   Now I'm pregnant with my third and my daughter will only be 2 1/2 at the time this baby is born and she's a total mommy's girl!  When you ask her if she wants a baby sister or brother... she furrows her brow and says NO! MY MAMMA!  lol  She doesn't even like it when the dog cuddles up to me. She pushes him away and tells him to get down that I'm her mamma.  So I can only imagine what this is going to be like!

My only whine right now is that I am still so nauseous!  I swear it hits me like a brick wall about 2:30-3pm every single day and I am just worthless when I get home. All I want to do is go to bed which I basically do.  Last night my husband was actually home from work soon enough to cook and my son fell asleep super early and actually slept through the night.. I mean it was like 6 and he was snoozing on the couch. I was in bed and fast asleep by like 8:30 last night.  I'm totally pooped.  I just want to hit that 2nd trimester and pray that it goes away at that point.

  • Ok I have a whine! My mother insists the baby should stay in my bedroom for like 3 months. I am so tired of hearing this that I yell back. I just realized that I need to chill and ignore her and change the subject fast. She will not know where baby is sleeping!! She says she's never heard of a baby going in the crib right away. I'm like...what world do you live in??

I told her baby will be in pnp or cradle that a friend might give me to borrow for MAYBE first few weeks so I'm not walking down the hall every hour or so then she goes in the crib. Yes I know things can change but I'm going to go into this being positive. She is going to drive me bananas :( My child...my rules.

  • @BeckyP005 right on!! Of course our LO will be in a pnp in our room for months lol just bc of lack of room. But if we had the room we would be putting her in her crib in her room. Stick to your guns!

  • "@"BeckyP005  You sound like me when I was pregnant for my daughter.  I'm not going to fib though.. she ended up in our room for like 5 months. lol Because she wouldn't sleep through the night and I was totally exhausted and I got tired of hiking up and down the hall.  That way I could literally just reach for her and not actually get out of bed.  Lazy.. maybe.. but my rule of thumb when they're that little is if everyone's sleeping.. I'm ok with that! lol My original plan was to put her in her crib right away though.  I also think I hung on a little bit because I thought she was my last baby. Turns out she's not. :)

  • @niknak1208 I'm chuckling on all the things I "think" I want to do!! I need to come back to all my posts after she is born lol. The parents of the kids I nannied for did so many wrong things that made life miserable for pp who had to watch the kids on the weekends and hard for the kids to break habits that I guess I don't want that happening!! We shall see :)
