I can't remember what I posted, but we had our second court date yesterday. DH goes alone, so this is somewhat second hand.
The birth father's attorney asked for the current case to be dismissed. We expect the BF to file an appeal to the termination (which is what he should have filed originally to have any chance at overturning the adoption) although we are already three months past the six month cutoff for appeals. The court will look into it, but chances are they will dismiss the appeal since it is outside the usual timeframe and there is no evidence of wrongdoing in the termination. There will likely be another hearing whenever they have their info, but not sure how long this will take. Good news for today, but I really wish this was all over and we could finalize already.
