January 2015 Moms

wow.

Had my 30 week appointment today. And for the first time baby is measuring at 34 weeks! My god! The whole pregnancy she has been measuring right on point. These last two weeks seems like there has been a big spurt. Idk if the 2 steroid shots could have had anything to do with it when I had to have emergency surgury at 27 weeks along. Curious to see how the measurment goes in 2 weeks.

Re: wow.

  • If it was a fundal height measurement I wouldn't be concerned. DS measured 4-5 weeks ahead my entire 3rd tri. He was born at 39+1 and was an average 7lbs5oz. Fundal heights are very subjective. They depend on the measures, babies position and amount of fluid. If it was an u/s measurement they are more accurate, but still nothing to worry about.

  • I was measuring right on track early and am now measuring 5-6 weeks ahead by fundal height.  Did an ultrasound to check and both baby and fluids are normal.  Fundal height isn't very accurate and change base on baby's position and even how constipated you are.  Both my OB and the high risk doctor said they don't know why some people measure big sometimes and other times don't.
