Two strong heartbeats!

I just wanted to share my excitement! I had my 12 week check up today (I'll actually be 13 weeks tomorrow) and the Doppler detected two heartbeats! 157 and 160! I am so relieved!!! Now I can start looking at baby stuff and making my news public!

  • Congrats!

I'm hoping they will be doing an ultrasound soon since they found the additional heartbeat?

  • Sorry I didn't clarify. I've been on here with you all for a while... I had my first ultrasound at 6 and a half weeks and that's when they confirmed twins. I've just been a nervous wreck that I was going to lose one or both. :/. My next ultrasound isn't until 20 weeks.

At 8 weeks they did one on one of the smaller sonogram machines at the ob office and I saw the heartbeats. My next big ultrasound at the hospital isn't until 20 weeks though. Do you all think I should be going in sooner? I'm just going by what my doctors are telling me to do!

Thanks for all the info! They told me my twins were di/di at my first ultrasound. My practice works in conjunction with MFM at the hospital where all of my ultrasounds and obviously my delivery will be so that's good. I'm wondering if they are having me skip the 16 week ultrasound since I'm not having any of the genetic testing done... The one where they measure the neck to test for Down syndrome. I'm not having that or any other genetic testing done. At my next check up I am sure they will use their smaller sonogram machine. I actually prefer that over the Doppler! I would rather see the heart beats than hear them. Is that crazy? Haha.
