So grandparents are already asking about gift ideas for LO for Christmas. We live in a fairly small home, and I really hate clutter. This makes me want to be strategic about what toys we tell them she would like. Since by Christmas she will be almost 6 months, I have been looking at toys that can grow with her. That way we get more bang for our buck when it comes to saving space.
I was looking into toys that can be used when sitting, standing, and possibly even as an early walking toy. There seem to also be some cool looking combination ride on toys. I would like it to be something that can be used for cognitive and physical advancement. There seem to be so many options and brands. It's a little overwhelming. Has anyone heard about or have any experience with anything in particular.
Any other cannot live without toy suggestions are appreciated too!
@lealupins That crocodile looks fun! I was searching for it online and found it for $32 on diapers.com. I am thinking maybe it is no longer made, and so amazon retailers can ask a higher price?
I have been looking at the v-tech walker. I think it's a front runner.
The activity table looks like a great idea! I hadn't thought of that, because I didn't realize you could use them without legs before LO is standing.
I looked for that crocodile toy online and they are selling for $100+ and I am not spending that on a baby toy. A few minutes later I looked on our neighborhood garage sale site and saw one posted for $10. I just bought it. I'm sort of debating about selling it on eBay and making some money on it

We got the v-tech walker with DS1, and TBH it was kind of disappointing. As a sitting toy, it's ok. As a standing and walking toy, it was not so great. It's super light, so even with the wheels on the setting that gives resistance when pushing, it just slid across our floors. DS would pretty much faceplant as soon as he tried to take a step. Plus the electronic part of it shorted out before it was a year old. The activity table worked out better for us.
My nephew has this activity table, and had so much fun with it that my parents got one for my LO. He hasn't used it yet, of course, but when some friends of mine came over to visit with their small children, this table was a big hit!
One of my dogs also really enjoys when the table talks to her. I tried to teach her Spanish with it, but foreign languages don't interest her.

DS1 loved this toy but I know it did not cost $100 when my mom bought it for him.
