Foley balloon anyone?

I'm scheduled to be induced on Sunday and OB is recommending to start with the Foley balloon. Does anyone have an experience with this method? How is the pain? Did it work? Thanks Bumpies!!

Re: Foley balloon anyone?

  • My foley bulb made me super cramps for 2-3 hours after it was put in, but overall it was a good med-free experience.

  • I had one! They will start your epi before they put it in. You will be super crampy. They will only let it stay in for 12 hours. If will fall out when you are 4 cm.

  • I had it with my first...I was induced at 41 weeks .....it def started me contracting and I was uncomfortable all night but it worked and fell out the next morning at 4 cm. they started my pitocin at 6 am and I got the epidural a few hours later. I liked that it was med-free and it worked. Overall I think it was a good experience!
