AW: Fabric I got to make my bedding PIP

So here's the fabric I picked out!  Unfortunately making it myself is not saving any money, but it's fabric I picked out and am making it how I want it.   The pink fabric is the bumper, the green is the skirt, and the yellow is the sheet.

  • Cute!  How difficult would you say making it is?  Something a beginner could do?

  • It's absolutely worth it if it ends up being exactly what you wanted!
  • I'm making my own too! You're right, it's not a huge money saver, depending on what fabric is used, but I like the idea of making this myself. I don't knit- so this crib bedding is my version of knitting booties.

(By the way, your fabric is gorgeous.)

  • I can't wait to see the finished product! I'm sure it will turn out beautifully.

  • Cute!!!

So jealous. I can hardly wait to get a crib so that I can make the skirt and sheets. I think I'm actually going to go out this weekend and look at fabric.

You definitely need to share photos of the final product!

The pattern I got is just for your basic bumper, sheet, and skirt (it's flat, not the fluffy kind) so I'm hoping that makes it easier.  I'll pip when I finish making it and let you know if it was easy or not.

I've been on the prowl for a while now for the perfect gender-neutral fabric -- still haven't found it. Do you know who the designer is of this stuff? I'm trying to look at lots of stuff before I decide!!!

  • That is adorable.  I'm so jealous of crafty people like you.

The pattern I got is by Butterick, and it's number B4947.  To make the bumper, skirt, and 2 sheets, I ended up buying 15 1/2 yards.  I'm hoping to have extra left over to make other things with.

  • Very pretty!!  Alexander Henry??
  • yea, the flower one is by alexander henry
