I have seen some jacket-like things that you can buy that go over both you and the carrier, but that seems like kind of a PITA, and not to mention they might just not be warm enough depending on what your winter is like.
My plan for now is to wear her and just wrap my maternity peacoat over the both of us if it's really cold out.
I was wondering about this too. I don't think I have a coat big enough to go around us both. Can you just put a coat on LO and wrap them in the coat (With a hat, mittens, boots, etc)?
Follow, and I would also like to throw a wrap question in here. I have the boba wrap and we love it but she's probably going to want to spend more time facing forward soon. What wraps are good for forward facing or maybe have other carrying styles?
It doesn't snow here but it gets cold. I think layers are your friend. I have been wearing my Tulas over sweaters (or keeping my sweater on but open at the front if possible, buckling around my waist and then shoulder buckle goes outside sweater) then any other layers go on top of that
@Lcgroenewe there are different styles of carriers that allow for front facing- ergo 360, lillebaby, beco. You can't front face in any sort of wrap, though.
I always wrap or put on the carrier and then put on a jacket. Wrapping with the jacket underneath just feels too bulky. Then again, it doesn't get too ridiculously cold here and I don't deal with snow. There are poncho type covers with a hole for the baby's head, but I've never seen one used before.
@nunzchucks- Do I remember that you're in the Cleveland area? If so, there is a babywearing group that meets every month (they meet at different locations throughout the area, and each area meets 1x/month). They have a facebook page: Babywearing International of Cleveland. I haven't been able to go to any of the meetings yet since discovering them, but they would be a great resource for figuring all of that out! Even if you just posted on the page, they are really nice about helping.

I'm in Boston, so not only is it cold but there's lots of snow and ice :-/
Ugh, winter is so close!
