I feel like this can be said about any processed foods we consume. I'm not a big fan of flavored coffee drinks, so I guess it doesn't affect me, per se, but this "report" seems over the top and fear mongering. Unless I start making my own organic food grown from my own organic farm, I am never going to be free from chemicals. That's just a fact of modern life. I do agree that there's too much sugar in the drinks, but then again that is true for everything else. Not fair to single Starbucks out.
The only things that really stand out to me are the caramel color (I try to avoid because I believe it is cancerous) and the amount of sugar . The other points I don't really care about. It makes me sad that caramel color and artificial colors are added to so many food items when they do nothing to enhance the flavor and are dangerous for our health.
I am not shocked that PSL's are unhealthy, and agree with @hannahyejee that the picture is definitely over the top. It won't stop me from enjoying the 1 or 2 lattes I treat myself to a season.
I need this same information for the salted caramel mocha!!! I think about them and get them at least once a week. Going to look up the nutrition info now so I can know the dirt...
