  I hate that Taylor Swift is NYC's "Welcome Ambassador." Um..WUT? She's "lived" here for less than a year and has no experience or connection with the city.
  
  The video clip of her explaining New York vocabulary is hard to watch. It's painfully obvious she's reading off cue cards and I could swear she was going to run off set and burst into tears at any moment.

  I think Christmas deals are a farce. They sell out so quickly because stores don't stock the deals, and there's one amazon deal I'm interested in today -- but I know the price today is $10 more than yesterday's price. So the "deal" probably brings it back to yesterday's price. Not worth the stress.

  I love early Thanksgiving (and plan by eating a light, early lunch). Plus I get to eat at 3p, then leftovers for dinner at 6p.  And it allows more time for pie eating.

  But what if you skip lunch in anticipation of a big meal? Or just have appetizer stuff?

  100% with @laurlaurlaur. Thanksgiving dinner should be at 4pm at the earliest. Plus, eating the meal later means you have longer in a wonderfully smelling turkey house before you actually sit down to eat!

  I love early dinners. We do thanksgiving at 2:30ish usually and skip lunch. Our tradition is we eat and then head out for a hike before it gets dark. We do dessert around 4:30ish and then usually take a doggy bag of leftovers home. I wouldn't want it any other way!
  
  Mine is that I hate Elf on the Shelf. I'm feeling pressure to get one for the big this year, but I find them annoying and waaaaay too much work. But I also don't want him to be the only kid at school without an elf. Ugh.

  This is how it always was for me growing up - total midwestern thing.

  I know nothing about Elf on the Shelf, but already despise it and hope it dies out by the time LO is old enough to notice.

  It will never die. I just saw different outfits and pets you can get it at Target.
  
  I was irrationally annoyed because they got one at DD's school. It just seems like something that should be kept at home for parents discretion.

  Most people I know (California) do Thanksgiving dinner early as well. 2ish sounds good to me. Then we play board and card games the rest of the day. Tons o' fun!

  This is why I always look at historical price data on www.camelcamelcamel.com before purchasing an amazon "deal."

  We are having Thanksgiving dinner early at the Messy House... But that's because MiL cannot cook. I'm tired of my Thanksgiving meals being ruined by her cooking negligence. I am making my own dinner at home for us to eat before we have to go over to her place.

  I think people who shop on Thanksgiving should be forced to spend their favorite holiday on their feet, listening to Muzak, and dealing with bitchy people. That'd nip that crap in the bud.

  This must be a UO, I loved the Muzak that KB Toys played. I also liked working the crazy busy black Friday sale. As a kid I wouldn't have minded working later in the day on Thanksgiving since my family ate early.

  We always eat early (by 3 at the latest). Then we clean up from dinner and have pie (and hot tea for my mom and I) while my mom and I plan our route for the next morning. Yes, we are those crazies...
