Stroller talk- up uppa baby vista

First time mom here. I have researched many strollers and think we have finally decided on the up uppa baby vista. The most attractive feature of the newest model is that it has the option to add another seat for when we have another child. I really like the tan color, but am worried it will get dirty. Anyone else have experience with this stroller? If so, what color?

Re: Stroller talk- up uppa baby vista

  • I have also been searching strollers. ...I am completely in love with the uppa baby Vista 2015...I am getting it in black so it can be used for second child no matter boy or girl....a friend has the current model and she loves it...also getting the uppa baby Mesa carseat

  • I'm currently between the Vista 2015 in Pascal or the Stokke Xplory also in gray or melange... I'm leaning more towards the Vista just because of cost because I think they are both great.

  • I love the vista strollers! I'm a first time mom, quitting my job soon and moving! Trying to see if you know o any discounts offered with this stroller? I tend to buy things then find out they have discounts later. Haha

    Thanks!
  • I've had the vista for 3 years.  I love it and so does my son.  I plan on buying the kick stand so my 3 year old can ride along with his sibling.
As for the color, I have the sage green.  The fabric has held up extremely well.  The tan is very light but all the covers can be removed and washed.  Uppa baby has terrific customer service.  My stroller was making a squeaky noise and with very little questioning they just sent me a brand new frame.

We found a good deal on albee baby; I think we ended up with the previous year's model but it's basically the same stroller.  Might be worth it to wait til Cyber Monday shopping after thanksgiving.

  • First timer here too! Going with the Vista in all black as well. I am really excited about this stroller. They have really good reviews on the new 2015 model on youtube if anyone is still stuck on chosing between this and another stroller.

  • I received the uppa vista in black with DD from the Ellen show and it was amazing! Held up so well and I wish I still had it but I sold it on Craigslist because we thought we were done. Can't afford the price tag this time around :( so we got the Chicco Urban, which has some similar features.

I just bought the uppababy vista 2015! I mentioned in another thread, I did a ton of research and found out uppababy has contracts with their retailers that they can't discount their products. Discontinued products can be discounted but a few sites mentioned there is such limited stock on the '14's to not expect a deal (also, it's not a legit double like the 2015!). BUT I ordered from peppyparents.com, they offer a $10 discount when signing up for newsletters which is really pennies but they offer no sales tax, saved me $75. I called uppababy first and they confirmed they are a reliable retailer!!

Sorry to hijack the thread. Does anyone have a bugaboo? If so, would you recommend/ do it again?
  • We are pretty decided on the UPPAbaby Vista 2015, but we're going to try out the 2014 model at the store before being added to the pre-order list (in Canada). I am sold on the 2015 model. Still need to decide on navy blue or red.

I was trying decide between the up uppa baby and bugaboo cameleon as well. I went into the store and looked at them several times, leaning towards the bugaboo. The thing that sold me on the up uppa baby is that the new model offers the second seat option for another baby (or child). None of the bugaboo models have this option :(

Same reason for my decision! This is our first but hopefully not our last so it's such a great option.

Kate from The Small Things Blog does a comparison of three different strollers. There are also pictures showing the baby in the actual stroller so you can get a good visual of each one. Check it out

  • Are these strollers seriously over $700?!?!
  • Are these strollers seriously over $700?!?!

Yep lol it was the only pricey item we wanted and my parents ended up losing their minds for a moment in time and bought it for us so I didn't question it! Ours came to $849 with a $10 off coupon and no tax. Granted, it comes with a bassinet that can be used overnight and the 2015 stroller can also be turned into a legit double, even for two car seats if u have twins. From all the reviews, it seems most people use it for all their kids so although it's an investment, you won't have to buy another stroller in the future. At least that's how I like to justify the insanity ;)
  • It is insanity

But my friends in big cities, LA NY SF would start with a budget stroller & all end up with bugaboo & uppa

  • I am a third time mom and always wanted uppababy even with my first one, but got a peg perego, which I hated. With my second we can a snap and go and it was great for a winter baby. This is our last, but will be doing a lot of walking, so I broke down and got a used uppababy. I would recommend searching for a used one if the option of 2 seats is not as important. You can get used models anywhere from $200 and up.

  • For those of you who don't need/want the extra seat for a second baby/child, the UppaBaby Cruz is another great option. It's also a full-size stroller like the Vista. The 2014 model is on sale right now for $350 at amazon, Albee Baby, and other places. The new 2015 model (which will not be much different from the 2014 model except the inclusion of a bumper bar and wheels that are 1" larger), is $500-$530 and will be coming out in the next few weeks.
  • A lot of my friends have Vistas and love them. I really wanted it last pregnancy, but I didn't get it because of the weight and difficulty in collapsing. I collapse our stroller after every use, and buses here (NYC) require you to collapse strollers, so the Vista would've been too much work. Plus, there are stairs in my building and most subway stations, so I wanted the lightest stroller possible.

Just a couple of other considerations.

  • My local baby consignment store has a lot of these strollers on consignment.  I get all of my baby gear consigned except sleeping things.  High chair, swing, bouncer, stroller, all that.  And when I'm done with it or want to try a different kind, I consign it back and get another one.

Just last month, picked up an used '13 vista in Lindsey (cream) color, and it is in amazing condition.  There's 1 noticeable black streak & some smaller scruff marks only visible upon close inspection.  Honestly, the fabric has held up quite well and not dirty at all.  Just found out my friend 's lavender stroller is a uppababy Cruz, quite a light color and pretty much no more dirtier than the Vista I have

These are the cleaning instructions, per uppababy
So I've added some buggy love products on my registry, and ordered the wash to do the tub wash
Will need to let the weather clear up to hang dry in the sun

  • That's the stroller and color I want! Don't worry about the tan color. I heard it's machine washable. And the light color will be nice since you're having a baby and going into the hot late spring and summer months.
  • I've been trying to decide between the 2015 Uppa Baby Vista and the Bugaboo Chameleon too.  I really like the shocks and wheels on the Chameleon since it seems like it's a smoother ride for the baby but like the new features of the 2015 Vista as well as the Uppa Baby car seat.  My husband read some negative reviews about the Bugaboo customer service, which is fairly important to us, then never heard from their customer service after emailing them a question almost a month ago.

We'll probably go with the Vista but want to try it out and compare to the bugaboo before purchasing.

  • We are leaning heavily toward the Vista.  One word of caution- the 2015 is redesigned from the old models (2009-2015.) Therefore if you buy used and later want to buy a second seat, the new rumbleseats won't work with it, so you'll want to find a used second seat if you buy the stroller used as well.  We were considering a used model but after reading that and considering we want more than one kid, we decided to go for the 2015.  I'm going to register at Buy Buy Baby and use my completion discount to get it (After my shower....after some debate I decided I just couldn't put something that expensive on my registry.  However, everyone is different.)
  • I bought enough gift cards to cover the cost at pish posh baby during their 20% off sale, so it only cost $656 since they do free shipping and no tax. I verified with their customer service that I could do this before pulling the trigger.

  • I did love the uppa baby vista. I have a 2010. However, the closing mechanism got jammed and it made an already hard collapsing stroller almost impossible. It was durable and for the price, it came with a lot of extras. All the women in my family that had babies around the same time as me got them. They are all on their second child and have all bought the citi mini. It is so much easier to open and close as well as much lighter. I am seriously thinking about getting the citi mini GT. It has forever tires which are extreme important living New Orleans(terribly cracked sidewalks and streets).
  • @tunnel‌, all good points for me to consider, thanks!
