Don't know what to do keep losing weight

I keep on losing weight and then gaining then losing it. I have no clue what to do. My doctor told me to eat every hour but I still can't hold everything down. On top of that I hurt everytime after my meal. How could I stop losing weight before they put me in hospital?

Re: Don't know what to do keep losing weight

  • Do you have HG? I do, and I initially lost about 15-16lbs. Then I managed to get about 2lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight. Now my HG is flaring up really badly again, and I'm losing weight all over again. However, all of my ultrasounds have shown that the baby is growing just fine and is where she should be weight-wise. What have your ultrasounds shown?

  •  i am currently at +2 from PP weight.  i eat all the time, but yet dont' gain much weight.  My doctor isn't concerned at this point, but i have a feeling if i don't gain some weight soon, she is going to be concerned.   I am actually measuring ahead though, so the whole thing feels messed up and of course my head starts wondering on what could be wrong and why i'm not gaining but baby is getting so big.

Pregnacny is such a mind fuck

  • Nature lovers the same with my ultrasounds too. My old doctor told me the same about hg so yeah I think so. But this doctor says I need to gain weight. Bookworm62 they have me on the pills but sometimes it don't help. I also get heartburn so bad that I actually get sick right away from it.
  • @draven78‌ how far along are you? It sounds like you have HG and are not getting adequate treatment from your doctor. It's unacceptable that you're suffering so much, and your current meds aren't working, and all they tell you to do is eat every hour. With HG, how much you eat is not within your control. You really have to get insistent and push for better treatment.

  • Also, being put into the hospital is not necessarily a bad thing. My hospital visits helped a lot. Being able to see how badly off I was, and how weak my veins were, is what got me my PICC line, which has been a lifesaver.

  • Since being diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 10 weeks, i am currently down 36 pounds. I keep worrying about it but my OB and High Risk OB dont seem concerned.

I can understand your concern. I hope they figure ot out soon!
  • I'm currently 31w4d and about 10 lbs down from my PPW (which is better than the 25 I was), but all 4 of my pregnancies have been this way. I've delivered 3 baby girls all in the 7 lb range and it looks like this one is on track too! My doctor isn't concerned as long as she's growing on track!
