It's been a couple of weeks and no one's posted one, so here goes nothin'.

For the purposes of this check in we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year.
1. How old is your LO?
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed?
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop?
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges?
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume?
Re: Extended BFing Check-in
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 2x/day - morning and night
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? I weaned down off the pump at 11.5 months (which is when DD started refusing bottles, or sippy cups with anything but water). I was totally done pumping at a year. I just dropped a pump every few days, and also did fewer nursing sessions during the day on weekends to help with engorgement.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Nothing extended-BFing related, but poor DD has a cold, and couldn't really nurse this morning thanks to a stuffy nose/cough.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? We did! She was a lion!
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed?
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop?
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges?
Just realized that nursing to sleep will start getting more difficult as he gets longer and heavier. Anyone else encounter this? Or is this not really a concern since they somehow figure out a comfortable position?
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume?
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 6+, I am a student/STAHM so I just nurse on demand.
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? I never pumped very much. Lo wouldn't take a bottle.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges?
Yes! At about 13 months I developed some plugged ducts/mastitis and cracked nipple on my left breast. I was able to treat it successfully at home though it took almost 3 weeks to completely clear up. Now it is back! Cracked nipple and all. It is making feeding on that side really excruciating. I am doing the same kinds of things as last time but since it popped back again so soon I may have to visit the ob this time.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? A skeleton, but only for a short time as he hated having the costume on.
Eta: message was written twice!
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 4-5, which includes 1 MOTN feeding
3. Are you still pumping? No
If not, how/when did you stop? When he turned 1
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Not right now
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? Yes
What was their costume? He was a pirate. He had a blast trick 'o treating. So much fun!
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? About 4-6x/day
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? I am in the process of stopping pumping at work. Today was my 3rd day of not pumping. Going ok but pretty uncomfortable by the end of the day.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Nothing major. Only thing I can think of is I am having a harder time unlatching her now that she has more teeth. We nurse to sleep and when I try to unlatch her she clamps down...ouch! Any tips on technique are welcomed!
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? Yes! DD was an owl and DS (5) was "Pharaoh Bear" (bear costume with pharaoh hat)
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 3-4 on weekdays and 5-6 on weekends. Those numbers include night wakings. Gah. She'll have nights where she'll wake just once and other times a few times per night. We bed share, which I think makes it worse.
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? No. I did end up pumping until she was 21 months old though. She wasn't big into other types of milk, so I pumped once a day for an extra year. Thankfully, I was able to just drop that one session.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Nothing new. Still a bit frustrated with the night feeding, but I don't think those will stop until we move her into her own bed/room. Hoping and planning to do that in the next couple of months. She also has pretty much decided that she doesn't like one of my boobs. I can't remember when that started, but she'll barely try to nurse from it and pull away. Any one else have that happen before?
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? She was a black cat. I just bought black leggings, a black sweatshirt, ears and a tail. I painted a nose and whiskers. She liked it and had a great time ToTing. We went to about 15 houses and she was really into it!
1. How old is your LO? 13 months
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 6
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? I pump once a day at work (work 3 days a week) and that's just to maintain her supply. I usually mix that in with her whole milk for daycare.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Lately DD has been wanting to BF twice as much as normal. Most of the time it's sweet and I don't mind, but then other times it feels excessive.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? DD was a ladybug :-)
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 2-3 on weekdays and 3-4 on weekends.
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? No. I stopped around. 16 months by slowing reducing duration of one pump session until I felt ok to stop. Then moved on to the next session.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Nope.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? Yep he picked out a panda bear costume that was basically a black and white vest with a hood that had a bear's face on it. Super cute and nice and warm for our weather that night.
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 5-6
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? Yes once a day for 10 mins. I'm weirdly attached to the routine and scared to stop. Anyone else feel like that?
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? I'm about to go away for the first time this weekend and terrified she will wean during my 30 hours away from her. I'm sure she will be fine staying with daddy but I'm super anxious!
>5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? Yes- a homemade kitty cat- ears, tail and whiskers.
-My step-daughter is 12 years old.
-BFP #1 on 9/2/12, D&C 10/18/12 no heartbeat on US @ 10 weeks.
-BFP #2 on 1/7/13, R was born on 9/22/13 via C-Section
2. We nurse on demand; about 4 times a day and a ton O/N.
3. I haven't pumped in almost a year.
4. I wish I could teach her not to dig for my breasts in public but there are some things that just simply can't be understood when one is a year and a half.
5. DD was a hobgoblin. I made her costume. She was adorbs.
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 3 times during the day, at least 2 times at night (though lately more - boo).
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? Still pumping once a day. I plan on continuing until I start a new job (in theory in January). I anticipate just slowly reducing the amount of time I pump.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? My first PPAF started last week. It's definitely made my supply suffer a bit - LO nurses and then keeps asking for more, which makes me feel bad. Hopefully it'll bounce back soon!
Non BF-ing question of the week:

2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? 3 and at least 2 over night
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? I am in process of stopping pumping now
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? DS has started grabbing at my shirt and pulling up or down. This is annoying in public. It's like he thinks "oh yeah, there's my snack, give it!" He has really sharp nails so its also a little painful after awhile.
Non BF-ing question of the week: 5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? Yes What was their costume? I made him a skunk costume because he's my little stinkus.
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? Down to 2, morning wake-up and bedtime.
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? Nope. I stopped around 15 months. By then I was struggling to get even 2 oz in 30 minutes and she moving to the toddler room at daycare with no bottles/BM allowed so it seemed like the right time to stop.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Not right now.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? We didn't dress her up this year. She had a Halloween shirt that she wore to daycare but that was it.
17 months today
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed?
On demand day and night
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop?
Nooooo. I stopped producing for a pump maybe around when he was 7 months. Thankfully I'm a SAHM so it never was an issue.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges?
He's dragging his teeth along my nipple when he unlatches because he thinks it's funny. It hurts like hell. Also, I'm pregnant and my nipples are already getting a little more tender!
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? I had a little Toddler mutant ninja turtle.
1. 15 months old.

2. On workdays he will nurse about three times a day. On weekends about five. There is an occasional MOTN feeding, but he has mostly dropped that in the past month.
3. No more pumping. I stopped a little after 12 months.
4. The only challenges that we have had recently are nursing strikes, I guess. I keep thinking that he is trying to wean.
5. We dressed him up as a frog prince.
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? During the workweek, just at bedtime and motn when she wakes up, which is about half the week. On the weekends, all day, if I let her. I have been trying hard to limit it to only bedtime and before naps, and sometimes in the morning. Last night, for the first time since she was born, I went out with a friend and DH put her down, he gave her a snack and sippy before bed and rocked her to sleep and all was well. She asked to nurse as soon as she saw me this morning.
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? I stopped about 5 months ago, just after she turned one. We had some struggles because she was having a cows milk sensitivity, but was fine with other dairy products. We gave her soy milk in a sippy during the day and nursed morning, evening, bedtime, motn until she was 15 months old and outgrew the sensitivity. I was down to two pumps by nine months, and slowly moved my pumps later in the day. I was pumping at 1030-11 am and 230-3 pm. I gradually moved that last pump by a half hour every few days until we were at the time of her evening feed. At the same time, I moved the morning pump a tad later until we were at just a 1 pm pump for I think about our last month. I dropped that last pump pretty much cold turkey without issue.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Gymnurstics are driving me nuts and the newborn like feeding on the weekends, but I'm really starting to work hard on distracting her and refusing the day.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? Yes, she was a pumpkin
1. How old is your LO? 2.5 as of September.
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? I haven't counted recently but a lot. Probably around 10 times a day if we're home all day.
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? Well I stopped pumping at work at 1 year because I had to. I still pumped for comfort purposes after work (she was always in bed by the time I got home) until close to 18m maybe? I honestly am not sure.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Well, I'm pregnant, so I'm dealing with my daughter needing to be more gentle with my belly. Like lunging in or her jabbing me with elbows and what not.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? I did. She was a minion.
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? two or three
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? Stopped at 18m at work. Have traveled for work recently and have pumped for missed feedings. Made me realize how much I didn't miss it.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Nope. It's pretty easy right now.
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress up your LO for Halloween? What was their costume? Yep, he was the local baseball mascot. He chose that and for months was talking about being it for Halloween. I was shocked he didn't change his mind.
1. How old is your LO? 18 months
2. How many times a day does your LO breastfeed? Twice daily during the week, sometimes 3 times per day on the weekend.
3. Are you still pumping? If not, how/when did you stop? No, not pumping anymore. I gradually started decreasing my pumping when DD turned 1, and was completely done pumping when she was 14 months.
4. Are you dealing with any new BFing challenges? Unfortunately, yes. I developed mastitis almost 2 weeks ago, and it seems to have resolved with pumping and antibiotics, but DD is continuing to refuse to nurse / minimally nurse on the affected breast, so not entirely sure what to make of it. I'm thinking I may try and wean from that breast altogether, but I'm just not sure at this point. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Non BF-ing question of the week:
5. Did you dress your LO for Halloween? Yes, she was a strawberry and hated every second of it. Lol.
