This may be an odd question, but just wondered if it had happened to anyone else. I have been using pampers from day one and have had no problems. I just moved my daughter up to size 2 and all of a sudden I am smelling strong urine odor when I change her. We never used a diaper genie because I feel like its just a waste. I put the wet diapers in the trash inside and dirty diapers I will either take them right outside or tie it up in plastic bag and then put it in the trash. I have noticed the urine smell a few times changing her diaper and yesterday I walked by our trash can and it reeked of urine. The trash was only one day old and there wasn't anything else in there to make it smell. The only connection I can make to this sudden odor is the change in diaper size. I was just wondering if that had happened to anyone else. It seems strange since I didn't change brand of diapers, but I changed size. Has this happened to anyone else???

    Has she started any kind of solid food? That could explain a stronger odor.

    I actually noticed a change a few weeks ago with my DD as well. We use cloth mostly, but I am definitely noticing it. I think that their digestive systems are just becoming more mature.

    We don't exclusively use Pampers, but bought a few boxes of size three last week. I noticed that when he was still wearing them and wet, I could smell the diaper. I haven't noticed this with other brands or when he was in smaller Pampers. Maybe it's the material? Combined with bigger amounts of pee?

    She has been getting some solid foods since 4 months, but I haven't noticed the odor until the diaper switch. I wondered that too at first and took a mental note of what she has been eating. Maybe it is just coincidence. Who knows? I just know I do not like that smell at all! UGH!!!

    Yup- we just started getting strong urine too. It is getting more concentrated.

    We use Pampers, and I noticed the bigger he's getting the strong the smell. We don't have a diaper genie and just use the trash in our garage. I'd say it's due to the diaper holding more and/or it's more concentrated.
