Mine is measuring big as well. Supposedly he's in the 94th percentile for size! Also when my ob measures my belly I'm ahead. Got measured today and I'm measuring 27 weeks, I'm only 24 :-(
This one is still right on track for the time being, but DS was 2-3 weeks ahead for most of the 3rd tri. He actually wasn't a big baby necessarily. He was just long. He was born 3 weeks early and was 7lb 11oz and 22" long.
When I had my 20 week scan, they said he was in the 75th percentile. I had it done at the hospital with the perinatologist. I was really concerned because DD was 7lbs 3oz and I was really close to having a c-section due to her size..... I brought up my concern to my OBGYN about his size and delivery and she said not to worry. Things can change and the 20 week scan isn't "perfect." Babies can speed up and slow down in growth. It made me feel better. Don't stress!

From what I understand, the size estimates they give based on ultrasounds are notoriously unreliable. Also, the difficulty of delivery isn't necessarily determined by size. I had a fairly easy delivery with DS (as these things go) and he was almost 9 lbs. A lot depends on how the baby is positioned, what your anatomy is (which no one can really know in any detai unless you've had extensive tests like an MRI), etc.
I'm measuring right on track with this baby but DS1 was consistently measuring ahead from the 20 week u/s and beyond. My water broke at 35 weeks and DS was born at almost 7 lbs, needed no assistance whatsoever and we went home the next day. That's not typical for being 5 weeks early so I can only assume my EDD was fairly off.
I had my belly measured for the first time yesterday at 24w2d and I'm closer to 26w. Doc said it could be the baby or could be additional fluid...neither which were concerning to him. If I still measure large at my 28w appt, he'll do another u/s to determine the cause. He also mentioned that it seemed like my uterus was sitting higher than my pubic bone, so it may be nothing at all. Ahhh...the "exact" science of pregnancy!
I go next week but I feel and def look bigger than I feel like I'm supposed to! My daughter was perfect at 7lb4oz and 20", I'm hoping this one isn't a linebacker princess! Lol
Yep! We just had a growth scan today & baby boy is measuring 3 weeks ahead, in the 98th percentile. He's estimated to already be 2lbs 15oz & over 16 inches long! I'm only 27 weeks, and he was a clomid baby so I know my dates from charting.Doctors arnt worried yet about his size, thanks to my type 1 diabetes they kinda expected this.
