Hi Everyone,
First post here! I was just wondering what those of you who have used a Doula in the past or are planning to use one this pregnancy considered a reasonable price. I went to an event and met with a bunch of local Doulas over the weekend and of course the one I liked best is the priciest..by several hundred dollars. I read that anywhere between $400-$600 is average but she is almost $1000! Her services and experience are in line with the other area Doulas so the extra cost isn't because of getting anything more.
Re: Doula Prices
Most of the other ones that we looked into were around $800.
I think my doula is absolutely worth it and her ability to create a space for me and DH to be in is priceless.
If you are set on going with a doula, just know your price range and pick a doula that best fits with you verses who is the cheapest. Be sure to do interviews and ask to get previous birth moms recommendations.
In my opinion, our doula is going to be 100% worth the money.

$900 is common here, I have seen some more expensive and a few non-licensed/trained beginners charging a lot less too.
