I have the hardest time commiting to a name for our lil one. We have kept it a secret so we don't get unwanted opinions from family. I think I like the name and then I go through a phase where I re think it way to much. We are not into star trek or anything close to it but the few people in birthing classes that we have shared our name with asked if thats where we got our name. (also Lord of the rings I guess.....) Does this name make you think of any of these things? And which middle name to you like best? both are family names. thx
Rowan David
Rowan Daniel
Re: commiting to a name
In general I like it. Rowan is the first name of the Archbishop of Canterbury, so I think it's a good man's name. I don't like that it's unisex, though.
For the mn, I vote for Daniel.
rowan is just really nms.
i keep picturing the poor kid getting teased "he's rowan a boat!"
i know, i'm dumb.?
isnt Rowan the name of Brook Shields daughter?
I like the name for a boy though. I think it sounds best with Daniel.
And, just remember you arent committed to any name until you write it on the birth certificate. You can change you minds as much as you want until your baby is born. Dont stress about it.
I prefer Daniel, but it depends on the last name. Rowan David could sound better with the last name.
Rowan Atkinson? I don't know why Brooke Sheilds used a boys' name for her daughter, but I like Rowan a lot. RoHan with an H is the land of the horse people in LOTR, but I'm a big fan, so, I kind of like it. It's a real name, and not straight from the books like Eowyn, Aragorn or Arwyn/Arwen.
