Vote was 53/47 in favor. I have no words other than cuss words. Especially in regards to the final bullet point. I mean, in regards to all of it, but the last bullet? I just can't even formulate a coherent thought about it right now.

So... Right now, 2/3 of the Supreme Court is Roman Catholic (the other 1/3 is Jewish, which as a Jew is bizarre to me since we make up less than 2% of the American population). I sometimes imagine that Scalia sits in his office thinking 'What can I do to piss Beevol off today?' So, I'm not exactly excited about the Supreme Court protecting my rights right now.

What bothers me is that not only are the implications of this law unethical (and against my religion - the only times I believe that G-d "punishes" Jews is via the evil eye and THE #1 way to call the evil eye down on yourself is to believe that your unborn fetus is a baby, sure it's superstition but that doesn't make it feel less real to me and I'm not even super religious), but these laws are so clearly designed to make me, and all other women, less safe in the name of shaming me/us for having sex. How the heck is that "promoting the general welfare"?!?!

If you want to judge women for having sex, that's your prerogative, I guess, but crafting LAWS that create death sentences for women and children in the name of something that should be relegated to mean spirited gossip is vile and sub-human. (Children in the case of forcing a mother to carry a fetus incompatible with life to term - something I believe to be evil toward that child).
