Does anyone else's OB now use the Harmony test instead of the standard quad screen?

I went in for the quad screen this week only to find out that my doctor's office now has everyone do the Harmony test instead. While I'm thrilled about this because of its greater accuracy, my understanding was that these tests were normally used earlier in pregnancy for women who were high risk. I had it for my standard second tri blood work and am not considered high risk. Anyone else's OB doing this? I know it's more reliable, so I'd like to think the industry is going in this direction, but somehow I think my insurance company is going to disagree. I had the test done so now I'll just wait for the bill, but curious to hear what you ladies are getting.

    I don't recall if it was Harmony that was done, but I was told by the genetics counselor anytime from October to mid December (I'm curently 15w5d) so I can only assume it's acceptable up well into the second tri.

    I'm happy to hear doctors reporting that it should be standard. I'm a FTM but have done enough googling (and lurking on these boards) to know that these tests seem to be far more accurate than some of the older ones. Now let's hope insurance companies agree!

    I also had the genetic testing, mine was verfi. The doctor told me it can be done between 10-13 weeks. I also just had the second trimester screening done at 16 weeks. They still offer both at my clinic.

    I did the genetic screening at 11 weeks and my OB said everyone did it. She said it would be 25$ if insurance didn't cover it.

    I had it! Bonus, the harmony test also determines sex anytime after 10 weeks!

    I asked my OB if my ins didn't cover it, how much out of pocket. She said $25 so I went ahead. It doesn't hurt to ask how much the rest is out of pocket if your ins doesn't cover. And you can always talk to the office manager or the billing specialist to see if it would be covered.

    @bears0928‌ for some reason my OB gave me the test at 9 weeks and I'm not high risk either. Since it came back abnormal, we saw a genetics counselor who was thoroughly confused that we took the test too early (should've been at 10 weeks) and at all, since I'm not high risk. My doc gives it to everyone too, and though we were also afraid insurance wouldn't cover it, apparently they've started covering it more!

    My OB is and I am not " high risk" either. However, my doctor did find two "soft markers" for chromosomal abnormalities in my ultrasound. She said she was not worried but I demanded another ultrasound in 10 weeks from now. She suggested just to put my mind at ease that we do the harmony test.
