It's been a month since my surgery, and I'm feeling very close to normal. The challenges are dissipating, and I feel a little stronger every day.I'm very excited about getting cleared to work out again. I miss my abs.
How far out are you from your surgery? How are you doing in general?
One month yesterday-Back to normal basically!
What are the major challenges you've faced? What progress have you made lately?
Being sick this week was horrible!!! I've started vacuuming again!
What's one thing you're really looking forward to getting back to being able to do?
DTD!!!! I want to jump my DH!!!

Absolutely in love with our 'big' family!
I'm also a proud Auntie to a crazy little girl, her brand new baby sister, a little man on his way in the next month, and a sweet little mister we will miss forever!!!
2.5 weeks out... I think I am doing really well. Although my bleeding picked up again this morning. I went grocery shopping yesterday, by the time I was done I had a constant ache near my incision, so I still have limits to what I can do. I charted my cervical mucus before getting pregnant, and based on recent observations I think I might be ovulating! What the heck body? I just had surgery to get a baby out 2 weeks ago and I'm breastfeeding! Give me a break. Also looking forward to sex, my poor DH has had quite the dry spell. I also want to be able to take my older DD out for activities again, like the zoo and hiking.
Just short of 3 weeks out. I am feeling really great, but I think I over do it sometime and pay for it later.
I had an incident around 1:30 am Sunday. I woke up with this HORRIBLE rib pain so much so I almost threw up from it. The only thing I could think of doing was sitting in the shower. Of course this was the same time that LO was due for a feeding. God bless DH, he fed her a bottle that had only about 2 oz in it so while she did get something she was still screaming her head off...
Still not sure what caused that, scared the hell out of me though..
I am looking forward to working out again. I stopped using my elliptical back in January because I was just too tired!
Its been 4 weeks exactly and I was feeling great until the past few days. I'm starting to get more pain on the right side of my incision and I really can't figure out why.
I went to the doctor this morning to get one of my stitches removed from the left since it was coming loose and starting to catch on my clothing (ouch!). So much better not that it's gone though.
I can't wait to start running again. I don't go far, but it really makes me feel good about myself. I'm even considering getting a jogging stroller as well even though my original plan was that my runs would be "me time" and LO could stay with DH for that.
I'm 2 weeks, 5 days out. I feel mostly normal except my stomach just feels heavy. I haven't worn the brace in two days. I was thinking I needed to build up my back and core muscles instead of relying on it. I realized I can sort of flex my abs again. I'm not going to do any ab work until I get to ask at my 6 week appointment but it was good to know I could feel them.
I can't wait for baths. I might be allowed. I forgot to ask but I'm scared. I don't even let water go directly on the incision in the shower and only once have I faced the stream. Too scared.
I dream of running marathons again. I don't know that I ever will. But I'm looking forward to building back up in distance. I'm shooting for being able to walk a 5k before my 6 week appointment and then I'll ask about running.
I also cry often about my wedding ring. I want it back on so bad. I'm scared I won't lose the weight and I'll never wear it again.
@SPurp13 I'm jealous of the ab flexing! I still can't feel mine.
I only got cleared to drive and go on walks at my two week appointment. I'm waiting for the six week appointment for clearance on having sex, lifting, running, swimming, and taking baths.
How far out are you from your surgery? How are you doing in general? 4 weeks. Doing ok. Still in some pain sometimes. And as I've complained every week. Incision still puffy. Starting to really get scared that this how it's going to stay.
What are the major challenges you've faced? What progress have you made lately? Yesterday I took both kiddos for a walk in the double stroller - baby jogger city select. And man is that thing heavy. I pushed it around the neighborhood for about 30 min. Of course the incision hurt last night again. Think I overdid it. Going to have to put that off for a little bit. Progress is that I just had to start picking up my 25lb son on Monday as all our help left. Going to continue to change him on the floor and only have to pick him up for naps and high chair.
What's one thing you're really looking forward to getting back to being able to do? Let my toddler climb, bounce and play on me again.

Just FYI, it isn't recommended to run with lo in a jogging stroller until lo is 6-8 months old (depending on the stroller).

I had no idea, thanks for letting me know!
Yeah, I think you have to wait for good neck contol (I'm in a running mom/pregnant FB group). I know moms who do it, but if you are going over sidewalks and everything else, I can't see that being a good idea. I'm not going to run with her since all my running is on a treadmill other than races, so I'm not up to date on the recommendations--I just read the FB. They seem split on the issue.
Feel good here at 2.5 weeks out. No baths or lifting more than 25 lbs for 4 weeks. No sex until after my post-partum 6 week visit. Am I seriously the only person who is not looking forward to sex? It's like the last thing on my mind. I'm so sleep-deprived and just run down with a toddler who is suddenly very demanding and a newborn who likes to nurse hourly all night long. We have snow in the forecast this week so I'm not even sure about taking DS out on a walk. I could probably handle that though.
Lazy and sexless over here, but hey, my uterus feels great!
How far out are you from your surgery? 3 weeks tomorrow
How are you doing in general? I had mostly been feeling pretty good for the last week and a half. Although now that I'm on my own without helpers over the past two days, I'm worried I'm overdoing it. My incision has hurt worse over the past few days and I'm back to taking ibuprofen.
What are the major challenges you've faced? What progress have you made lately? See above. I'm learning how to handle dealing with LO all day, along with laundry and other household chores, without any help.
What's one thing you're really looking forward to getting back to being able to do? I'm really looking forward to being able to take LO for longer walks. It makes a huge difference in my mood when we are able to get outside for a bit, but I'm getting sick of the same short walks over and over.
Me: 30 H: 30, Married Since 10/2010, TTC #1 in 12/2013, BFP 2/13/2014, Baby M 10/16/14
I am one week out. I am still pretty reliant on the pain medication. But everything is healing ok.
Yesterday I had a persistent headache that would not go away despite a nap and my strong pain meds. So I called the OB and they had me come to labor and delivery to make sure everything was ok. And it was. Thank goodness!
My biggest challenge has been breastfeeding. Since I was induced and a c section a lot of the many lactation consultants I have talked to think that is causing my supply issue. I have a vitamin I ordered that is supposed to arrive tomorrow and so I am hoping that helps increase my supply. I love breast feeding and want to continue. I am ok supplementing but would love to be giving her more breast milk than I am right now.
I am in the boat of can't wait for sex again! I miss my husband And can't wait to just feel sexy.
I'm 4.5 weeks out. I'd say I am feeling about 90%.
My biggest challenge is not overdoing it. I feel almost normal again but know I need to hold back. I simply need to lift my 35 lb toddler sometimes, there's just no way around it. I also want to do more and more and it results in me being a little sore by bedtime. I have also noticed my side muscles are a little sore.
I am SO looking forward to starting workouts again soon!

No real challenges lately -- I can't go for super long walks or it gets agitated.
I look forward to exercising! Question though -- I had my 2 week pp visit today, and doc said sex is fine... Is that normal for a csection? 2 weeks?
