Can I sit with you guise or nah?

Hey all. I'm a dirty lurker who has decided to come out of the closet. I've got a two week old baby and feel like it might be unhealthy that the majority of my conversations are with her (SAHM here) so I would like to communicate with all of you. I also would like very much to participate in the drinking threads. Gimme all the alcohols, all the days. That's how I roll and the jello is optional yo.
I'm 31 years old, and a mom of 3. An 11 year old son, a 4 year old son, and a 2 week old daughter born on October 13 at 35 weeks. I live in Northern Michigan where we have begun to prepare for hibernation by gathering bottles of alcohol and hiding them in trees. I enjoy good humor and conversation, long walks on the beach, and climbing trees and such so my kids can't find me.
I hope you all will welcome me with open arms and forgive me before hand should I suffer word vomit at any given time. You are a hilarious interesting bunch and I would love to be a part of that. So, let the good times roll?

  • Hi! Who has the list of questions?

Returning shopping carts, your feelings on cilantro, and a few other things. :)

Welcome! :) Pour some wine and enjoy!

Returning shopping carts is crucial unless my urge to urinate or worse is in play. Then I get it as close as possible. Cilantro hates my face. It's like I chewed on Zest soap. If you have any more feel free to shoot them my way! Wine is my friend but tonight it is seasonal all the way with some Angry Orchard! Thank you for the warm welcomes!
  • I love how alcohol is what bonds this board.

How do you feel about closeted gay relationships?
Closeted gay relationships are a nope. Must come out and enjoy the fun! The closet is never fun unless there is a disco ball.
  • Where in Michigan? If you are South of me, I probably need to ramp up the alcohol gathering...

I'm here in Ludington. Let me know if you need to hit up my tree.

Real tree camo and really large ornament hooks.
  • The best is when people from the UP break out their second hand to show you where they are from.

I love da yoopers! Escanaba in Da Moonlight all da way eh!

There usually is a disco ball, tbh.

If this is indeed true I may spend the winter in there with my alcohol. Secret passwords will be mandatory.
  • Welcome!

  • Do you ship Larry or Zankie?

I live a sheltered life of diapers and butt cream so I don't know what either of those is, but I'm a quick learner and am dying to find out because they are apparently really top notch threads on the board. Please teach me. I will be your grasshopper.

Google Maps says I'm probably even across the lake from you!

If the Ludington car ferry comes in over there you are likely pretty close!

Shopping carts, cilantro, fruit pies/desserts, then closeted gay relationships?  That got way too srs.
I love fruit pies and desserts, however I can tear chocolate a new one if the mood is right

Other Lake. No ferry over Lake Huron, and I don't recommend trying to drive over water :P

I should have clarified I'm Canadian, I just wanted to see if you were on the Michigan peak higher than Southern Ontario, and you are.

Oh gotcha. I'm about 6+ hours south of Canada. Sorry, straight up newborn baby brain up in here. I would totally drive across the lake. It's just that bad right now. Farthest North I've been though is St. Ignace, MI. Watched the big hockey thing there. Loved it. I go over by Detroit a bit as well. Family and what not.

Edit to add I've been to Lake Huron though. In Tawas, MI.

  • I mostly just lurk around here, but grew up in the GR area, and have fond memories of camping in Ludington State Park growing up.

  • Hi and welcome! You seem fun.

  • Pink or red starburst?

Pink. Though I wait on the edge of my seat for a pine sol green flavor.

Now that I'm looking at a bigger map, it looks like if you drove North, you'd end up in Sault Ste. Marie, but if you went straight East, you'd end up Kinkardine/Goderich area.

Michigan is such a weird shaped state...
It's like driving in a mitten. You go in with a clear head but get lost and stuck in the thumb on a random rogue string.

The state park is my haven and I love going hiking out there. Even in the winter.
