Zantac

My 7 week old dd was having 5 bowel movements a day before starting Zantac for her reflux. Now we're going on 4 days without a bowel movement! She seems to be uncomfortable...crying, straining and kicking her little legs. I tried prune juice, but it hasn't seemed to help. Has anyone gone through this? Advice? I've called the pediatrician - she said it can be normal for a baby to go a week without a bowel movement. I just feel SO bad for my babe.

    My DS was on Zantac from 2 weeks till 3 months and never had an issue with not pooping.  But he's 2 now and I still don't think he's gone a whole day not pooping.  

    Did the doctor seem to think there was a correlation between the zantac ant pooping?

    If LO seems uncomfortable take rectal temp like at the DR office..my DS always popps for that.

    You could give an ounce or two of pear juice a try. It's in the baby isle at the grocery store and is already diluted.

    Thanks ladies. The one doctor said there could be a link while another from the same practice said there definitely is not a tie between the two. I think there is. She was going 5 times a day until we started zantac and now she's going once every four days!
