PCOS pregnancy

Hi all. I just reached week 5. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) a year and a half ago. Everything I've been reading keeps talking about high chance of miscarriage. This is my very first pregnancy, so I feel worried all the time about everything. Trying to stay positive. Anyone else going through this?

I also have PCOS and am finally pregnant with treatment.  I'm really excited and don't feel like anything is wrong, so I'm hoping that I'm really not that more likely to have a miscarriage than others without PCOS.  I have my first ultrasound this week, so I'm really looking forward to that (also a little nervous though).  I've been trying to not talk about the future in too certain terms, but seeing that the baby's doing fine will really help me feel like this could be real!

I have been so stressed! Also have PCOS and ENDO. First pregnancy, and my doc has me on 1700mg of metformin until my 12th week. Which is making me feel so crappy!! Hoping that we all have sticky babies!! Haha. But seriously, this waiting to see a heartbeat thing is killing me!!!! 11/17 can't come fast enough!

Same here! Every time I get cramps I get nervous something is wrong. It's so hard not to worry, but we just have to have a positive mindset and know that if something does happen there's nothing we can do about it. It's all in God's hands.

I have PCOS as well and my pcm reassured me yesterday that every symptom seems fine since he saw I was a bit nervous. I'm still on metformin as well.

I'm right there with you! I feel I just have to trust in God's timing, provision, and plan! It's hard to battle my mind though!

I also have PCOS, my doctor wants to put me on progesterone suppositories, anyone have experience with this? I am 4 weeks along and this is my first pregnancy. Also super nervous!

I too have PCOS, and I'm on 1000mg metformin. I think the metformin definitely helped since I started it earlier this year to first lose weight and now get pregnant. I've read great things about it helping prevent miscarriage too. I'm trying to stay as positive as possible. My regular OB GYN that diagnosed me and has been working with me to get me pregnant is actually out on maternity leave until Jan. So I have to see a substitute until then. I'm hoping they are somewhat knowledgeable about PCOS but they won't see me until next week (I'll be about 7w). They also won't do the u/s until later on so I am definitely anxious.

I have PCOS as well and am still seeing my RE. With this diagnosis we are unfortunately at a higher risk. From what I know things to do to avoid this: continue metformin if you already on it, eat healthy, high blood sugar can negatively effect baby so eating a balanced diet will help keep your blood sugar from spiking. I hope this helps!!

I also have PCOS and got pregnant naturally. Had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and 3 days and baby was fine. I got to hear the heartbeat. :) I'm very nervous as well but trying to stay positive.

I have pcos as well and I've been told the higher risks as well. We conceived with ovulation meds both times. It seems even more stressful this time but ultimately I know I can only do what's in my control by taking care of myself to ensure I'm doing what I can to grow a healthy baby. I'm 7 weeks today and we have our ultrasound next week. Fx it goes well for both of us!

I'm on progesterone (3x daily). If you want you can send me a private message. I have to take if the whole first trimester.

I have PCOS as well and am finally pregnant after a lot of help. I wouldn't worry to much about it. Miscarriage is always a possibility, but I've talked with my doctor about it a lot and some women with PCOS never have an issue. It's hard not to worry, but you shouldn't stress yourself out. It won't do you or your little one any good. ;)

I also have PCOS And this is my third pregnancy, but I didn't get diagnosed until about a year and a half ago so I didn't have it with my previous pregnancies. I'm definitely extremely nervous, but I've talked to my doctor about it and she has told me not to worry about it as I've had no signs of anything bad happening. Try not to stress! I know that's easier said than done though :)

Hi all! I was diagnosed with PCOS 4 years ago. I was worried I wouldn't be able to conceive but taking Metformin and Folic Acid worked in four months! I went to confirm at 5 weeks and also did a sonogram and blood test, I am taking the Progesterone every night. I went again at 6 weeks and got to hear the heart beat! Also asked more questions. I am to take progesterone and Metformin and Folic Acid the whole pregnancy. Also the cramping can be side effects of low Progesterone my doctor says. Everything looks great so far so I can wait until I'm 10 weeks for my next appt! I won't worry anymore unless I see blood. He told me that my chances of miscarriage are greatly reduced now that I heard the heart beat. Keep up your strength and positivity!

I have PCOS conceived with meds and trigger shot. Also on Progesterone suppositories until week 10 or so. Currently 7 weeks and have our first us Monday. Nervous and bouncing between being over the moon excited and guarded and worrying about the worst. I hate the feeling and just want to relax and enjoy this time...

I also have PCOS which I treat myself naturally with Inositol supplements (chiralbalance.com) - they work wonders.. I took them throughout my pregnancy with my son, so I am continuing during this pregnancy as well.   I had low progesterone during a MC this past summer, but so far my progesterone seems okay with this pregnancy and I am not supplementing, but I am doing natural cream.

I'm on Crinone, which is a progesterone suppository. I will continue it until week 11 of pregnancy. It's kind of gross because it stays inside for a while but if it makes this baby stick! I don't care what I have to do :)

I was diagnosed at anovulatory 3 years ago before I got pregnant with my daughter. I took clomid, got pregnant on the second round, and had a very healthy pregnancy.

This time around, took clomid to no avail and decided to see a specialist. They also diagnosed me as anovulatory, but also with PCOS. They put me on Metformin and we going to try letrozole + ovidrel and TI. Well, I didn't make it that far and apparently treating the PCOS with Metformin was all I needed as I got a BFP before starting my first letrozole cycle.

I'm at higher risk of m/c anyway because I have type I diabetes. I'm very closely monitored throughout my pregnancies. I am also on progesterone vaginal suppositories just as a precaution since my progesterone level was on the low side of normal.

I am nervous just like you as I still haven't had an U/S yet to confirm that everything is progressing ok. We just have to do our best to stay healthy and pray/hope that our LO's continue to thrive and grow in there.

I'm so with you, I also had a MC in August due to low Progestin. Just found out I'm pregnant again and started suppositories, I had been using a natural cream the last couple months. Blessings on everyone's tiny ones!

So great to hear I'm not alone. Thanks for all the kind words! I am 8 weeks now and have my first appointment this Monday Dec 1. Meeting with a midwife. Mr OB that diagnosed me with PCOS moved last November, so I was waiting to find someone for my yearly, but this happened sooner. :)
I am not on any meds, bit have been on metformin in the past. I decided to share the news with family for Thanksgiving. My in laws are thrilled, this will be there third grand baby. I tell my family tonight, this will be the first for my parents! In so excited. I've dropped the negative thoughts and have really been feeling great about the pregnancy. It took a lot of prayers, love, and support to get to this point from a tight knit of wonderful friends. Praising God for each day with my little one!
