I have a June 2013 baby and a June 2014 baby and I am just wondering how you are handling it? When I just had one, I was always out of the house doing different activities and now I have turned into a hermit. I have been going a little crazy these past few weeks, because I have no energy to do much of anything! Leaving the house is a huge production, especially when the husband works 12 hour shifts. How do you stay sane? or are you going insane like I am???
Re: Does anyone here have a 17 month old AND a 4 month old at home? or close?
I do the same thing! We go to the mall when I am desperate to get out. It passes time nicely, but I've been avoiding it a bit lately due to some bugs that are going around. Thank you SO much for the link! I was trying to find a group like that one, but I wasn't finding any!
I always tell moms to only aim for one task a day so you don't feel overwhelmed or disappointed.
I promise it gets easier to manage, although right now it's hard for different reasons (don't sit on your brothers head, stop picking his nose...)

It gets easier in ways and harder in other ways. My youngest doesn't sleep all of the time now and he gets bored easily laying around all day so I have to hold him a lot. I've heard that it gets easier the older they get, so I'm hoping that's true.
I think I will try to just do ONE thing a day, even if it may just be making dinner lol
I'm usually better at staying active and being positive, but I think hormonal lately? I just started my period again (sorry, tmi), for the first time since before my first was born.
Sorry that was a long post and kind of all over the place.
We do the mall thing pretty often. We also do the library, random target/grocery store runs, walks around the neighborhood, and some random local attractions (nature center, zoo, etc).
A lot of times, I have the little one in a carrier and the bigger one in the stroller. The first few times I took the kids out, my husband was with me, but I only let him help me if I was falling apart. He was my safety net (which he hated because he felt like other people probably thought he was a total slacker).
And there have been times when it all crashes and burns- and then I just think to myself- ok- today was a fail- we will try again tomorrow. It seems to get a little easier so far.
Right now we are at the mall at least once a week walking around, and having him play with other kids in the play area.
I also do Fred Meyer runs, and target runs weekly as well.
We've also went to indoor play parks (ran by the church) but they charge, and requires you to go in and help set up, clean, and take down toys which I think is silly. ... And honestly I don't have time to do that all the time.
I just get out as much as I can.
Oh! Also I've been into making my son's 'busy box' with things I have around the house. Certain things I've got keep him really busy and entertained for a while. It's prefect for days we are at home all day.
For ideas just Google busy boxes. Or look on pintrest for ideas if your interested.
Michelin82- I feel like you really understand my situation. Everything you said was perfect and it's what I needed to hear. I got a baby carrier today off craigslist for $10. It's already been great and I have a clean kitchen now.
Thanks everyone!
