Can you share pics or links of your cups?

My LO hasn't been interested in wcm from anything other than a bottle. Can those mommas whose LO are drinking wcm out of sippy cups, can you share pics or links to see your cups?

Also, if you don't do bottles anymore but it was part of your bed time routine, how did you get rid of it and what's your bed time routine like now? We still rock LO one to sleep with a bottle at 13 mo. And she has them herself at naps, but I'm not ready and sad to have to give up our cuddles and rocking. Thoughts?

Edit: spelling and clarity

This is what we have. There is no valve (so it's not spill proof if baby shakes), but that's what we wanted. Easier to clean with no valve, too! If the flip top lid is closed, it doesn't leak at all. I've tossed it in the diaper bag with no problems.

  • These are the cups we had the best luck getting him to drink milk out of.

We weren't doing bottles, but I was nursing him to sleep. I think the first night I had my husband put him to bed, just rocking him. The next night I think I put him to bed rocking him to sleep. We've added more books into our nightly routine as well. For us, I got worked up in my head that it was going to be a big deal. But he ended up transitioning pretty easily.

This for us too. One night a couple months ago LO was really antsy trying to roll out of my arms during a nursing session so I just decided to go with it and put her in her crib and she went to sleep with little fussing, I think she was just ready. Ever since we had been doing bath, books with daddy, nurse, and crib awake but just recently switched it up so that DH can put her to bed. So now its nurse with lights on, bath, books with daddy, a couple of minutes of daddy snuggles with lights off and crib and its been successful for the last few weeks :). Good luck, transitions can be hard for parents and baby but go with your gut on what you think is best for your family!
  • DD was putting herself to sleep at the time so we had no night time bottles. But at the time she could only drink a bottle if he was laying down and she was having a hard time drinking out of the sippy cup at meals so we switched to straw cups. We've tried a few different kinds and I've found that these worked best.

It took me teaching her to drink from a real straw from my cup before she would take it. But it's much easier in the car as well.

Also when we switched to WCM, we had maybe one can of formula left that we mixed it with and at first she didn't drink much so I just tried to make sure she got her nutrients elsewhere.

We use these.  Straw cups worked really well with my son but both are using the same cups now.  We do still have nightime bottles with LO.  Its mostly phased out except for her last one of the night and the middle of the night feeding.  YES she is still waking up but we are slowly weaning her (she is litterally the most stubborn baby on the planet)  My son wasn't off the last bottle of the night till he was 18 months so Im not too worried about it

    Nuby Clik-It Soft Spout

These are what we used/use. Soft spout 8.5 months-12 months & Flexi- Straw Cup 12 months on. They are both non spill and have held up to LO throwing them on the ground constantly. LO will take any type of straw cup including the ones given with kids meals but this is what we have at home. LO was obsessed with straws from a young age so getting her to use them was easy.

As far as the bed time routine goes, we haven't really had a bedtime bottle since maybe 8.5 months? When we transitioned it seemed very natural because LO seemed to be growing out of bottles anyway. Lately we have taken away her paci during the day and she only gets it for sleeping. So she knows when she sees the paci that it is bed time. Our routine now is dinner with 8oz WCM & table food, play time with Daddy, show her the paci and into bed she goes.

  • We use all of these. I've only put milk in the first 2. Mainly use the playtex.... I needed an insulated cup for "school" so when we switched I got those and she did well with them. She had a few sips of milk my cup before I gave her a cup of her own because she likes drinking from mommy's cup. And she's always liked hard spouts more.

We still nurse to sleep so no help with that sorry!
  • Thanks ladies!! She's always done so well with water in her sippy cup but milk was no bueno. I need to get some new cups to try. I just tried her hard spout Tom Tippee with milk and she drank from it so I'm hoping it sticks!!

  • Also, I think the night time bottle being removed and no more rocking makes me :(( and selfishly want to keep it!

Keep the rocking! Rocking E to sleep is my favorite part of the day. At some point he will just want to go to bed on his own so until then I will enjoy the snuggles. I also rock him if he gets up in the MOTN.

  • Were any of you told by anyone that straw cups are better for teeth and speech than spout sippy cups? We were told that by the OT therapist, so I've stayed away from them but i may try some of your ladies' links since the straw cup is not working for milk for now.
