Stretch marks

Those stretch marks that showed up in the last few weeks of pregnancy (gah!) are legit. I'm not super concerned about them but of course I'd like them to fade as much as possible. I know the body will take care of this on its own for the most part, but I want to help it along. I apply Vitamin E oil and other things. What do you do?

Please no one refer to them as tiger stripes and the like. :bz

  • I was wondering too. I never noticed any while pregnant but a bunch showed up on one side of my belly after dd was born. Perhaps I should pick up some Vitamin E oil.
We are so excited to grow our family!

  • I have been lucky to have not gotten any (yet); I was using cocoa butter after showering all throughout pregnancy and now Palmer's cocoa butter. Does it work? Meh I don't know; can't say for sure if it was the cocoa butter that prevented them or not, but it's smells kinda good and feels like a good moisturizer.

  • I hate to burst any un-stretched bubbles in O14... But I didn't get ANY stretch marks from DD#1 and ALL the stretchies from DD#2. Mine are all big hideous things... I'm no help :((

Absolutely in love with our 'big' family!

I'm also a proud Auntie to a crazy little girl, her brand new baby sister, a little man on his way in the next month, and a sweet little mister we will miss forever!!!
  • My belly avoided them, but I have angry starburst boobs! They were fading at the end of pregnancy, then PP I got engorged and they got insane! It sucks because I have fabulous cleavage but I have to wear high cut shirts to hide the scary redness.

This is totally me. Thanks to a 3-day engorgementfest my boobs look like something out of a scary movie, just when I was thanking my lucky stars for no stretch marks throughout my pregnancy! Bummer.
    Samesies...ugh
  • I used to use coconut oil on my thighs and that helped. I've heard good things about bio oil too. I've been to lazy to use coconut oil lately. But its great for helping injured nips!
  • I got way more stretch marks with my first than I did this time. Im very fair and don't tan and my old stretch marks have faded to almost the same color as my skin. They did this in less than two years. I barely notice or think of them now. I never used anything on them.

@ginabina11‌ you definitely have reason for them though! Hope you are doing ok!
  • I used coconut oil after Ds#1 and they all faded pretty quickly. I also used it everyday of this pregnancy and managed to not get any new ones but I am still using it daily for the few old stretch marks that got irritated/ more stretched. And I agree screw the tiger stripes saying!

  • I pinned this figuring it was worth a shot. Of course you have to find the time to do it, which is a challenge in and of itself.

Massage a paste of coffee grinds and olive oil well into the area with stretch marks for about 5 minutes. Then take a hot towel and wrap it around the area for about 20-25 minutes. Remove and wash off with warm water. Also, when you are finished, apply a moisturizer to the area. The olive oil with the caffeine in the grinds will help stimulate the area to remove the stretch marks. If you do this 1-3 times a week, you will start to notice a difference within 2 weeks!

  • You can't get rid of them and really the only thing I have notice helps is time

    :(
  • OMG when I was pregnant I ate the best lavender and lemon ice cream

Sounds gross but I bet those smells would make a good combo for a body scrub
