Voting

I hope all American citizens have or will vote today.
I have very liberal politics in a very, very red state so it is unlikely anyone I vote for will win but it still feels good to vote.
It makes me really angry when people don't bother to register and vote. I contrast that apathy to DH's grandfather who took the trouble to get an absentee ballot so he could vote in the 2008 election because he was too frail to go in person.

I 'm with you @MoFree, my dad ingrained into our heads that it was our civic duty to vote. DH and I always do whether its just a town vote or statewide elections. I used to bring my grandma before she passed....she never missed an election!

I voted. Most of my local races were pointless because they were running unopposed such as the mayor position or other races it said choose "3" and only 2-3 people were running.

I vote in every election, even the tiny ones, so I will be voting on my way home from work. Although I believe every should vote, I also believe they should know who they are voting for and hopefully also have some core beliefs. The "a Democratic ticket is the clear ticket that we should be voting on regardless of who said what or did this, that shouldn't even come into the equation" is just a ridiculous notion to me. How about you figure out what YOU believe in and vote accordingly? I think that is what our real civic duty is.

I'm never more offended than when someone assumes they know how I will vote because I'm a woman.

We are taking a walk to our polling place after naps. I feel voting is a responsibility after so many women fought for me to have the right to vote. I want to show the boys the importance of the democratic process. Plus, it totally irks me when people complain about the political environment, but are too lazy to get out and vote. Unfortunately, my state's early voter policies are restrictive and cause trouble for many working families, so I know there are many who want to vote, but cannot find a way to do so.

I have to admit, it is fun to be in a swing state. I really feel like my vote counts. This was especially true in our last gubernatorial election when the top three offices were extraordinarily close. I love it!
