I've been a forum lurker, so this is my first post. Quick facts - FTM, due Jan 28.
I got some not-awesome news at the dr yesterday. I "appear to have" velamentous cord insertion, where my umbilical cord is not attached to the middle of my placenta. I don't have vasa previa, which generally causes the major concerns associated with VCI, but my dr wants to do a growth scan at my next appt to make sure that baby is getting all the nutrients he needs from the cord to stay on target size/development-wise. Apparently my dr saw this on my 19-week ultrasound and forgot to mention/fully explain. I thought DH was going to lose it when dr apologized for not mentioning it... So, if baby is still growing on target at the growth scan, there's less to worry about. If he appears to be slowing down, I'll be more closely monitored and might have to have him early. I've been googling, and basically driving myself a little crazy, and my next appt isn't for 3 more weeks.
So there's all of that going on, plus I feel like my hormones in general are in overdrive. I've been alternating between being a sobbing mess and a raging bitch towards DH (who must think I'm absolutely crazy). Anyone else feeling like a hot mess lately?
