Baby poop

My apologies if this has been discussed but I have been searching and have not found anything. I know it is normal for LO's poop to change when they go from breast milk to formula and BMs become less frequent. Last week my boobs decided they were done (over night) so LO has been on only formula for about 5 days. When she was breastfed she pooped about 5-6 times a day but now she only poops once in 24 hours, if that. Is this normal? Could it also have something to do with the fact that she has been fighting a cold for the past couple days? Change formula? TIA

    When we switched to formula she would only poop once a day. Our pedi said that it would happen. It's not the frequency of pooping to worry about its the consistency. So if you notice LO straining to poop or it's hard then I'd call the DR. Now that we began solids she's pooping twice a day. LO is also fighting a cold and we have not noticed any change in her pooping.

    ETA: We did try several formulas but it wasn't a pooping issue for us she was just a gassy miserable mess.

    Don't worry! I EBF And still my little one only poops once a week! He has been like that since about a couple weeks old. I love it because I don't have to change as many diapers! And his pedi wasn't worried.

    Some babies don't poop as often. When we switched to formula he started pooping every 4 days. Totally normal. My sister's kids were ebf and did the same thing. We call them poop camels.

    I second what everyone said.  Additionally, our pediatrician said they're bowel movements can change as their digestive system matures.  DS went from 3-4 runny BMs a day to 1 thicker BM every other day.  This happened while he was EBF.
