I'm all about saving money where you can...but that might be that it cost upward of $15,000 to get these two IN my uterus to begin with.

Is it that you want to know before Christmas? Any chance you can move your anatomy scan up a few days?

I had my appointment scheduled for my exact 18 weeks mark and the office made me move it later due to at exactly 18 weeks the chambers of the heart may not be visible as clear as a few days into week 18... We want to do a mini reveal with our families after our appointment so we are trying to keep it on a Friday. So it's the 12th (18w, which they asked me to move it later), 19th (we will be away in Mexico) or the 26th( 20 weeks)... I really want to know before Christmas, that's why I was thinking about spending the $99...

I'm going to pay $75 to find out at 15 weeks rather than wait until after the new year for my a/s at 20 wks. So yeah I would probably pay the $99.

Mine is 80 at 16 weeks and it's right before Christmas. If they can't find out you get a free ultrasound like a week later to find it. Think that's nice. I still get my 20 week ultrasound and assessment but I want to make christmas ornaments and presents for everyone so I'm hoping we can find out early and I thankfully get a Christmas bonus so itll pay for that. I know saving money is key but it'll be a nice present for everyone.

My 20 weeks date is exactly 12/26 as well. I sweet talked my Dr. to let me schedule that appointment a few days early so we can tell our families on Christmas. But if she hadn't let me or something changes I'll just have to float with it. I'm doing whatever insurance covers.

The hospital where I live has a policy not to tell the sex, so after my anatomy scan at 18 weeks , we will be paying over 200 to find out the sex .

I'd rather spend the $99 on something the baby needs, or it's college fund or something else.

I get wanting to know before Xmas since you have the option and then you can do stuff.

But I also want to be team green so I'm not super worried about finding out.

@mermomo5‌ ... That's why I'm waiting until after the anatomy scan, my doctor even advised me to wait , just as a precaution not to get any surprises.
& no they won't tell you even if you want too know, they say it's their policy . It sucks!

I said to save money. I found out with my daughter at 15 weeks but I think if it was 17 weeks I'd just wait. I'd like to find out early again so I can know before Christmas and I'm pretty anxious!

You may be able to go at 16 weeks.

I did it with my YDS and it was worth the $99 to know earlier than 20 weeks. And yes, it was only 4 weeks, but I wanted to know.

Our little family is moving to Australia in Feb, and if we didnt have to spend a shit load to move the dog we'd pay.... but because my little Sidney Crosby is costing me an arm and a leg..... its ultrasound surprise for this tight ass

We are planning on paying extra to find out around 16 weeks, unless the OB decides to do it before we go home for Christmas. Based on what she said at my last appointment, it would be at 20 weeks which is after we get back. Our families are dying to find out the sex so we would like to surprise them in person when we go home.

I'm paying like $200 for the early blood test to find out at 12 weeks... So you know my answer - lol. 3 weeks is 3 weeks! And you'll definitely find out at 17, I was 15.5wks with my first one when we did the anatomy scan

I didn't vote, because I think it really depends on your family's financial situation. I would view this as any other luxury expense, like going out to dinner or buying a fancy new pair of shoes. If it isn't a stretch for your family and fits into your "entertainment" or "extras" budget, go for it! If $99 is a lot of money for you and could/should go to other bills, I would hold off.

I am in the same boat. We want to know before Christmas as well. It's only $50 for me to have an early ultrasound so I think I am going to do it. I figure it's an early Christmas present to me and my hubby!
