Mesmerized by my child

It's been almost 6 months since his birth. I can't believe this has been my life for the last half of a year. I feel like he should still be a little nugget bundled up in his swaddle and held with his head supported. But no, he is big. He laughs and babbles. He sits on his own and loves to play. He eats food. I watch him studying things and learning simple physics of the world and I am mesmerized by him. This is the beauty of life - learning and loving. He is growing and learning so fast that I sometimes feel like I'm going to miss something. My favorite thing to do on my free time is watch him. Hugs and kisses, the whole nine yards. But just watching him learn is so fulfilling.

  • I've been feeling the same way lately. Just can't believe how big she is and what a personality she is developing. Makes me happy, sad, and proud all at the same time.
  • All of this! I have always loved babies and children and always wanted to be a mother! I feel so incredibly lucky to have a healthy baby girl to call my own:) I cant believe how much love I can have for such a small human. I cant believe how fast she is growing and learning. She amazes me everyday!
  • my love for Henry is so deep I don't even feel it half the time. It just IS. it's a part of me now.

  • I was afraid I wouldn't love this baby as much as I love our first, but I'm obsessed with her. All I do is squeeze her and tell her how much I love her and how beautiful she is. <3

  • Update: I laughed and cried tears of joy when I was giving DS his bath tonight. He is learning so much so fast. I've been giving him baths in a sling until the last 2 weeks. Now that he is sitting on his own in the baby tub, he wants to play with his bath toys. It's basically one big experiment – how do I pick up these wet toys, what do they taste like, why does it float away when I touch it, what does this water do when I hit it, etc. He also learned how to grab and hold the side of the tub when he needs to regain balance or push himself towards a toy he wants. Ugggghhhhhh. Too much. I am so glad the [bittersweet] joy and emotions are echoed by the rest of you wonderful moms! We are truly witnessing something special.
