Monday Vent

  • The year mark is seriously so depressing.  I'm sorry @mharnicker.
  • Yeah the year mark really sucks.

I have a difficult milestone today too. It's my 30th birthday, and I thought that I would be done having children by then. Joke's on me, right?
  • I totally can relate. I was on BCP for 12 years and took Plan B 3 times and now after years of trying I feel I wasted my money on BCP! So frustrating..I'm sorry you are feeling this way, but you are not alone.

    Me: 33, DH: 32

    TTC: 2 years
    Fertility blood tests all normal
    Tilted uterus

IUI #2 B2B 6/23 and 6/24, three mature eggs and 130 million sperm! FX this is the month!  BFN 7/8

3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests -  BFN

3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI  (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

Officially benched until March....but still plan on trying the baking soda douche due to my excessive and thick CM

  • I haven't quite made the year mark yet (I came to 3T a little more quickly due to the PCOS and MFI diagnoses) but I just wanted you to know that I also had the exact same 3-4 month estimate in mind after coming off BCP after 12.5 years!   It really sucks when you hit that point of, "If not for IF, this is around the month I'd have been expecting."   (((hugs)))

    @Shauntee Happy anniversary :)
oh god, this is really depressing!
  • I took BC for 10 years prior to coming off two years ago. I was so nervous because I thought things could happen quickly like the rest of my family and I might have problems with job interviews. What a laugh (or not). Now 2 years later I wish I'd never taken the damn things and started earlier, inconvenient or not.

  • I'm sorry for the milestones ladies. Big hugs. The year mark was hard and I definitely sympathize with you @EmeJay‌. My 30th was a week or so after we found out about my loss, so it was really hard time. I really had a hard time this last cycle since it was officially the last point when I could have have an EDD before I turn 31 next year. I was so naive last year when I thought I'd have a baby by now. :(
I know the feeling ... Hugs.
  • @Ann612  Sorry!   :-S   As a peace offering, have you ever had Vosges Haut-Chocolat? If not, allow me to introduce you to it to brighten your day.
ha!  thanks, anything chocolate is good

I'm sorry - these milestones can be really rough.

@emejay Happy birthday! (and since 30 is the new 20, we're all good right?)

Thanks! And omg, I wouldn't want to be 20 again haha! CRINGE
  • Ladies, thank you so much for your support and the chocolate recommendations sound yummy!! I'll have to try them!! I've been keeping really busy today at my nanny job which is good so I'm not feeling sad. When I wake up on my 31st in January I will be in tears because I never thought 31 no children and fertility problems. By then I'll be hopefully prepping/starting IUI treatments.
  • @EmeJay‌ happy birthday! I know it isn't quite what we hoped for us as we reach these milestones, but when our time for children comes we will treasure each every moment!!!

    Thank you <3
  • Anniversary's are definitely hard.  Around our one year TTC we had our first loss.  I struggle every wedding anniversary, and birthday because I feel it is another reminder.  (I used to absolutely LOVE my birthdays!). Now I find myself 37 with fertility issues. Not what I expected.  Sigh.

    ************Siggy warning, LO & loss***************

    Me 37 - DH 37 unexplained infertility

  • I can't imagine losing a baby @amymckenzie555‌. Yes, every kind of anniversary/birthday is that constant reminder. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thanks for the hugs @LLM100811‌
  • Ugggh. I hate milestones. At the 1 year mark we learned that DH has no sperm. It was soul crushing, and I still have a hard time dealing with the fact that we spent a year TTC but not really TTC. I remember last October thinking how next year I would have a little person to dress up in whatever ridiculous costume I wanted. Sometimes you just have to be sad.

Big hugs to @mharnicker, @amymckenzie555, @EmeJay (happy birthday :) and all the rest. If I could, I would kick IF in the balls for you all!

  • @mshandlebar‌ we have the same problem!!! No sperm present with DH twice when we saw the urologist. He referred us to a male endocrinologist who did an additional (3rd) SA. DH asked what his exact count is because all parts are working and he said the average count is 40 mil and DH has 20k. He also says we have a 1 out of 50 chance of natural conception. We were in shock hearing that!! His estridol is too high which can affect the count and hops in beer can cause it. My DH loves beer and has given up alcohol completely in hopes for a baby. Poor guy had wanted a baby since we started dating. We have been pumping him up with COQ-10 and zinc. He's been a trooper. I start my testing this month once AF arrives with the RE. The RE said during our consultation we have a next to nothing chance of natural conception.
