    1.  How far along are you now? 36 weeks tomorrow

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?  Sorry this might get long.

I wasn't feeling great on Thursday so I asked my doctor to put in a urine test for me to check my kidney function.  I had a headache, my fingers were swollen to the point I couldn't get my rings off and I felt hot.  The symptoms of my auto immune are extremely similar to pre-e.  I told her my symptoms and she told me to have my BP checked too.  My BP was in the 130s/80s range, I'm usually in the 110s/60s range.  My doctor wasn't in, just her nurse so they let me go once it got into the 120s/70s.

The next day (Halloween) my doctor was in and I got a call right when the clinic opened that I needed to be seen that day.  I got there and they did a bunch of tests.  My BP was up again.  Baby was on a heart monitor for 45 minutes while I drank juice, also had blood work and an ultrasound.  All of those results came out great.  I was so thankful to hear that he's doing great and if there is a problem it's me not him.  The only results I don't have back yet are from the 24 hour urine test.  I just finished that this morning and have to drop off the sample after work today.  Hoping for good results!

I know the scans are off but he's measuring in at 6.5lbs.  That was a fun fact to hear while I was so terrified.

Tomorrow I start weekly appointments.  Hopefully the rest is drama free!

    3.  How are your symptoms?

I'm feeling better, my headaches have subsided a bit.  I'm not feeling as hot, and I can get my rings on and off again.  Hoping this was just a scare!

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all?

As I keep saying just let me get through this one first.  I did go into this knowing I'd be high risk.  Just didn't realize the level of anxiety that would cause.

  • Wow, haven't posted on here for a while! Work has been so crazy and my phone's screen broke so I couldn't do mobile. Today is my first day of leave so now I have a little more time on my hands.

    1.  How far along are you now?

    32 weeks 4 days

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?

I'm in the 'every other week' phase with my OB, still going for u/s every other week as well. Babies are both head down so my OB is happy with allowing me to try for a vaginal delivery.

    3.  How are your symptoms?

I feel like a WHALE. I'm measuring slightly over 41 weeks right now and I feel every bit of it. I'm getting pretty uncomfortable overall but other than that I'm fine

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all?

Yes, we're planning to have one or two more eventually. I'm high risk because of the type of twins I'm having, not any other factors currently, so I'm not too worried about future pregnancies.

  • 1. 32 weeks
    2. Oh wow. Where to begin... Baby is measuring a little small and because of the velamentous cord and 2 vessel cord they want me to have weekly ultrasounds. The Vasa Previa which they thought was moving out of the way is in fact not, so the are going to do a c-section probably at 36 weeks so first week of December. I am no on weekly appointments and am going to be switching to the HR doctors full time starting this week. They are an hour away so it's going to take some juggling. I'm feeling ok about everything because we have a plan.

    3. My symptoms are hanging in. I'm actually feeling pretty good save for unprepared. I thought I had 2 months not one. No we are scrambling to get everything together and Grey starts preschool next week so add in another stresser.

    4. I'm on the fence I always said 2-3. Overall my pregnancy hasn't been bad, just stressful. And the things that are wrong are like 1%chance things. So if I did the next pregnancy could be easy breezy like it was when I was pregnant with g.
  • 1.  How far along are you now? 32 weeks...the end is in sight!

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? I had an ultrasound today and go to see my ~3 pound, 13 oz miracle again :-)  The only part that bummed me out was that my placenta is still considered low-lying, just 1 cm from the cervix.  I'm praying it moves up a little higher!

    3.  How are your symptoms? Not really feeling anything (other than my daily injections)!  If I didn't feel a baby in my tummy, I wouldn't really feel pregnant I suppose.  My energy is high and I'm continuing to go for my daily jog.

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all?  This is my 2nd baby and will likely be my last pregnancy unless we have an unexpected surprise :-)  At 38, I figure the risk of having another after this one is done breastfeeding would be higher than I'd like to handle.

  • 1.  How far along are you now?

    34 weeks

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?

Weekly NSTs and quick ultrasounds, weekly appointments with my general OB, monthly growth scans. (comes to two appointments a week) Baby’s stomach is still in his abdomen and his omphalocele only contains his liver which is really good! Hope this means a shorter stay in the NICU!

    3.  How are your symptoms?

I feel great for being 34 weeks! Went to bad REALLY early last night, and it seemed even earlier b/c of the time change. A little breathless sometimes. But pregnancy seems to agree with my body.

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all?

It all depends on how baby’s genetic testing comes back after he’s born. We declined an amnio at the time of his “o” diagnosis since I was way too overwhelmed at the time, and it wouldn’t change his course of treatment. It seems likely that his “o” is isolated and not associated with anything else. If his scans come back clean, we’ll definitely try for one or two more, once his medical conditions are under control. The pregnancy itself has been easy. It’s the anticipation and anxiety for after he’s born that’s difficult.

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? I still have two appointments a week to check on everything. I'm on the edge of having pre-e and my cervix is slowly giving out. At one of those appointments we do a growth scan and check my fluids. Today my cervix was just under 2cm and begining to dilate. My doctor tells me we just take it day by day and see where it goes.

    3. How are your symptoms? I have a terrible headache that never goes away. And yesterday and today I just feel crummy. I think I have a bit of tw blues creeping up on me. I miss playing with my son and being able to take care of my family.

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all?

My first pregnancy was so easy. DS was born on his due date. I had a lovely home birth and everything was perfect. This is my 7th week on bed rest. I just can't imagine doing this again. Before all this we said 3-4 kids, now I'm getting and IUD as soon as I can. H wants to get a vasectomy right away but I want to wait on any permanent decisions.
  • 1. How far along are you now? 36 weeks

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? Had a trip to L&D on Saturday due to feeling dizzy, lightheaded, and short of breath all day. When I arrived my BP was high (they never actually told me the number) so they wanted to run a bunch of tests and monitor me for a few hours. I am dilated 2cm and 50% effaced and measuring a week ahead with a ~6 pound 9 ounce baby. They said my tests came back normal except for a PCP on my EKG which could be normal if it is a one time thing. I was supposed to go back today for another EKG but my doctor said we could do it Thursday at my appointment and if anything feels off to go in to L&D again.

    3. How are your symptoms? I'm getting very, very uncomfortable. My pelvis hurts, my back hurts, the baby is shoved into my ribs and bladder at the same time, my toddler isn't sleeping, I am just one cranky mess. Plus, I've been losing my plug since Saturday (no, I will not include pictures!). I'm dreading how soon this is happening but I'm hoping for baby to make his appearance as soon as he's done cooking (but not sooner!)

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all? NO. We are done at two and I do not want to be pregnant ever again! I'm already scheduled for a surgery 6 weeks after baby is delivered to look at the adhesions on my ovaries and possible remove them if my endometriosis looks like it will be making a return so I'm guessing the possibility of more would be slim to none anyways.

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc? Switching OBs! Settled on delivering at a birthing center over an hour away from our home (it's that good) and so I had to find a doc with privileges at the hospital. Managed to get an appt booked for next Friday the 14th. I'm so excited and hopeful that this is the right move for us all.

    3.  How are your symptoms? Hanging in there!

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all? We're still planning on one more after this one with the remote possibility of one more after that. We'll see. This PG has been much better than my last, so that's reassuring.

  • 1. How far along are you now?
    34 weeks + 2 days

    2. Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?
Saw OB yesterday and bloodwork showed medicine hasn't helped, levels have gone up. He's sending me for blood work again and if it reaches his cut off (40), I'll be induced that same day. I'm currently at a level 25. Here's hoping my liver calms down and baby cooks for 3 more weeks!

    3. How are your symptoms?
I'm so exhausted!!!! My body is done. I have a migraine that won't go away completely and everything hurts.

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all?
We are planning on 2 more babies in about 3-4 years. Once both my sons are off to preK and K-12.
  • Good morning!  I am sorry I'm so late.  Just catching up on the week.

    1.  How far along are you now?  34+3

    2.  Any updates - doctors appointments, ultrasounds, labwork, etc?  Nope.  Baby girl is measuring in the 47th% which makes me super happy..  I have my twice weekly NSTs and OB visit.  Everything looking good except I've started to have some higher bps.  That makes me very stressed but I'm trying to manage my anxiety.

    3.  How are your symptoms?  I'm struggling.  I am becoming more anxious I expect due to the fact that it was right around now that my first pregnancy developed tons of complications.  I'm starting to have high bp and swelling.  I'm super uncomfortable and exhausted.  Just end of pregnancy nonsense.

    4. GTKY: Anyone planning on more babies after this one(two)? How has your "high risk" label changed your thoughts on more children, if at all?  This is it.  I've never wanted more than 2.  In addition, I'm older and my body is definitely done.
