DH's birthday

I need some ideas of what to get DH for his birthday! He works very hard and even though he's an ass sometimes, I want to get something small. I've been going back to work, so I can use 'my' money to buy him a present so he doesn't feel like his money is being used to buy him a present. Idk why that's a big deal to me, it just is.

Anyways, I'm planning to take him out to dinner at his favorite restaurant. He has also been saying he wanted to go see a particular movie, so we will probably do that if the IL's can watch DS.

Now I just need a small gift. We like hiking and the mountains. He also likes football and fishing. He needs a few new shirts, but I feel like that's a crappy gift. Any good ideas? Nothing crazy expensive because we're trying to save money! I know y'all are creative as shit, so someone has to have an idea!!!!

Don't know at all if this would work with where you live, or if it is the kind of gift you're going for, but you could get your DH a nice trail map of an area he likes to go, and offer to take care of all responsibilities so that he can have a stress free morning on the trails. You could pack a bag of trail snacks for him to take along, and maybe a fun new piece of trail gear, like gloves or a jacket? Then maybe meet him when he's done for a nice breakfast together?

Thanks ladies! I want something under $100. The battery extender sounds good, but I think he'd be like oh cool thanks. I like your idea @CalinAZ because DH doesn't get any time by himself anymore to do anything he likes.

Eta- sorry I got off because I needed to do homework while DS napped. He does like beer and I think I'm going to incorporate beer or maybe one of your ideas Vinny into his present!

Does he like beer? You can always put together a "build your own 6 pack" of craft or unusual beers that he might not buy himself on a regular basis.

He needs new underwear, so this Is great too. I may need to save it for Christmas with all of these other ideas.

Eta- he does like beer. I saw something like that and was thinking about it. Thanks for all the links everyone. It makes looking much easier!

My DH loves this underwear that Rei makes- they are like $20 a pair but would be good for hiking. Also not very practical but fun are these flip flops with a bottle opener on the bottom; the link is leather but they have non leather too

If he likes hiking, maybe a new camelback water thing? My husband loves his and uses it all the time. I know they're pricey, but target sells a brand that's not too bad.

DH wears his all the time. I bought it after our first so he wore it in the hospital when LO was born. He felt like the man struting around the maternity ward in it ...lol.
