What do you ladies think ? Should I see a second doctor ?

Brown Discharge : I have been getting it for about 3 - 4 times during the entire pregnancy and since last week, I see it more often. I checked with my doctor on Friday and he confirmed - No blood clots, No placenta previa, No placental abruption and the baby is doing fine. He just said my cervix is soft and I should rest a bit more for the next month to ensure my baby is not coming out in November. My baby though seems to kick / box me more than my first one ... and with lost more intensity...Back pain = same as any preggie woman would have at this time by carrying a baby in her belly...

So what do you all think - I go check with another doc , just to be sure ? ( My Current doc helped me with my first boy and was very accurate with my first ... No reason not to trust him with the second )

Kinda freaking out now :(

  • If your not confident with what your doc said then defiantly go see another. No harm in a second opinion but in the mean time I would do what your first doc has told you to do.

  • Do you feel that you have other reasons not to trust your doctor? I guess I don't really understand why you're thinking about seeing someone else now, when you trusted him about the same discharge earlier during this same pregnancy. It's hard to say since I'm not in your position, but I don't think I'd switch. I would, however, educate myself as best I could about pregnancy discharge, and then have a longer discussion with my doctor about my concerns. If I felt like he was ignoring my concerns or missing something obvious, I would see someone else about it.
  • Well, discharge during pregnancy is normal. Sounds like everything else checked out perfectly fine. Unless you think his analysis of those other checks is innaccurate, I don't see the need for a second opinion. Just take it easy and see how things progress over the next few weeks.

  • I agree with PP's that its probably normal and you should trust your doc and discharge is pretty normal during pregnancy... BUT if you really feel uncomfortable there is no harm in getting a second opinion...although not sure how insurance would handle this so I would maybe call them before you go see another doctor because it may not end up being covered... Good luck and I hope baby is nice and cozy and stays where he's supposed to :)
  • It could be from intercourse too. Things are more sensitive and some women bleed because of it. My Dr said brownish means it's old blood and could show up, up to a week after intercourse. I personally wouldn't be too worried but it doesn't hurt to get a piece of mind. :)
  • Thanks Ladies ... Yes I do trust him and for now I am okay without a second opinion.
