Hi new to this board. My dd is now 8wks. Sorry if this topic has already been discussed but we've been bf on demand--any suggestions on how to get a more regular schedule as I want to make it easier when I have to return to work

    I'm having to do this too. It was suggested to me that you just start offering it at the time that you need to give it. For example, I have to leave at 640 am on my work days. I'm going to have to start feeding DD at 6 am at the latest. I'm going to start this tomorrow seeing as how it will give her two weeks to get used to that schedule. We'll see how she does.

    No real advice, but can offer you ladies some hope! I did/do bf on demand, went back to work 2 weeks ago (LO was 8 weeks old) I have a 45 min to 1 hour commute & was stressing about feeding times. But too lazy to lose sleep that last week of leave to "practice". I just feed him when he wakes up for his early morning feeding (usually 4 or 5 am) then offer again at 6/615 bc I need to leave around 7. He always nurses that second time even if he just finished 30 mins before and it puts him on a good schedule for the day. He then gets a bottle at 9,12 & 3. I pick him up at 5 & he's ready to eat when we get home at 6. Some days he'll be hungry at 5 & I'll nurse him before we head home. It's going smoothly so far!

    If I know I need to be somewhere, I try to feed him an hour before we leave to go somewhere. It will usually take him about that long to be fully satisfied, and he almost always takes the boob, whether he just ate a bit before or not.
