We are having ALL of the family (20+ people) to our house for Thanksgiving. I will be 9 weeks at that time and will have had my 1st u/s. I'm trying to think of a fun way to tell them that we are expecting our 5th baby. I thought of putting up my kids school pictures in frames (we just moved in so nothing is on the wall yet) and then having a 5th matching frame with the u/s pic in it.....just see who notices. Any ideas? I know someone has to have something good.
Re: Need ideas to announce our pregnancy to the family....
Honestly, just keep it simple. Go around the Thanksgiving table and have each guest mention something they're thankful for. You as the hostess go last - and then bust out the U/S photo. That way, everyone knows what they're looking at and there's no confusion.
This time around I think I'm going to announce on Christmas morning if I can make it that long. I'll probably give them some kind of cute gift to open. My family is the kind to make big deals out of milestones so they love the song and dance.
If I can only make it to thanksgiving, I'll probably get everyone to say what they're thankful for and say I'm thankful for a growing family when it's my turn.
Like the turkey shirt OP mentioned. I would assume you were making a play on words with the holiday considering most people end up with a "little turkey" in their belly's.
I guess a ultrasound pic wrapped as a gift is most likely the way we'll go. Probably with the due date written on it. And the sex if we decide to do the first tri genetic testing and know it by then.
Congratulations! You're bloated! At 5 weeks baby is the size of a sesame seed and still behind the pelvic bone.
I need @PrimRoseMama's image of the anatomy of a pregnant woman throughout the weeks. Clearly no one understands words so maybe a picture will help.
Similar to this, my grandfather always says grace before our Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter meals. One time he announced someone's pregnancy (planned) and one time he said my little cousin wanted to add something. She said, "God bless Mommy's baby" and there were tons of exclamations. It was really cute.

We have only announced the news to our parents so far and told them, literally through a song
I'm almost 24 weeks and JUST started showing. I'm also very thin. They probably won't notice just by your appearance
