DD is having a hard time pooping right now. She had a bad experience over a month (maybe longer) ago when her skin ended up broken and going to the bathroom was extremely painful. Now she seems afraid to go and cries saying "poopy poopy" which sometimes ends up in actual poopy and sometimes not. Twice she has gone in the bath tub, freaking out the whole time. She bawls crying when she has to go. Her bottom is healed and fine, but her stools are probably firmer than they should be, but not hard....so sorry for this description....anyway....probably play dough consistency. She eats a lot of fruit (less now than in summer), but has slowed down her water drinking lately, I am trying to push it more. I don't know how much of this is mental and how much may be physical. She won't drink juice or milk, only water. Has anyone been through this? What helped?
Second question - she has a rash on her face that is coming and going. It might be eczema, it showed up around the time of a cold, but that is gone now and I am wondering if it might not have been related. I know some viruses can have rashes but couldn't find anything that sounded right.
Thanks for any tips, help, whatever,I hope everyone had a good weekend!
We are so thankful that our second daughter, Lillian Elizabeth "Lily", was born healthy and happy on February 11, 2013. We love her to pieces.
We lost our first daughter, Hannah Grace on May 4, 2011. She was buried on May 14 during a beautiful service at my home church. We are grateful that if she could not be here with us, that she is healed and whole with the Lord. We look forward to the day when we will get to meet her. We love her so much.
Re: Poop, Rashes and Bears, Oh my!
I can tell when he misses a day or two of fruit because his stools get really firm and hard to pass.
I know, I know, you can lead the toddler but you can't make them... Good luck!
If you can get some prunes in her, that would probably help. I agree with pushing more fruit, because that will also increase her water intake. DS is really into watermelon and pineapple.
Can you cut out foods that might be firming it up, like oatmeal and bananas? Just for a little while.
ETA: The rash I would call the pedi for. But I don't like anything that hangs around and that I can't figure out.
